I'm thinking of purchasing a Khorne Chaos army. This is ther list of figures ...
Chaos Character on Juggernaut
Chaos Lord on Dragon
Chaos Character on Steed
Chaos Character on Foot
2 Chaos Chariots
4 Dragon Ogres
8 Flesh Hounds
16 Marauders with Flails and Command
16 Chaos Warriors with Halberds
31 Chaos Warriors with Hand Weapon, Shield, and Command
10 Chaos Knights with Command
As you can see it is fairly extensive ... Does this list seem playable? Does anyone use the Bloodthirster? I'm most concerened with the heroes and special chatracters as they add a lot of points to the list. I'm pretty happy with the core units and demons and ogres. Thoughts?
you don't have to use all of it every time. for smaller games you can pick and choose what you want to use. Chaos characters are some of the best so its not always a bad thing to have a lot of points invested in characters. it can be bad in some cases but if you use them right they can be really good or in a bad situation kind of average or a little below.
you would have between 4000 and 4500 points(you might be able to squeeze out 5000 if you really wanted to), and if you used all of it it would be a legal army
I've seen the bloodthirster do very well(my friend has it)I think it is worth its points. the only bad thing is it doesn't have the greatest save, but that's what the wounds are for
how much are you buying it for? just curious.
<-- that room over there in my avatar is full of people who think you are funny...BURN...

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
i would imagine that isnt cheap
it doesnt really have enough core troops
to many chracters its fine for 1-2k but then it becomes to sqeezed for points
if you get this try to get another pAXCK OF WARRIORS
You would have to be at a bare minimum on core choices, but you could probably pull it off with what you have there. I would recommend another pack or two of Warriors and some more marauders.
If a tree falls in the woods and there's no one 'round to hear it is it still my fault.
yea marauders and warriors then more knights
Bear in mind that the warriors, knights, marauders and chariot are core if you have a mortal general he should have plenty of core choices.
The problem you will have with the bloodthirster is it will have to be your army general and you can't give it the master of mortals gift so your daemons become core choices, so in a 2000 point battle you will need 3 core units. Minimum size for a bloodletter unit is 10 so you need some more of those because if I remember correctly flesh hounds do not count towards the minimum core units.
You have to be pretty careful with a bloodthirster, they can be very effective but remember that it flies and is frenzied which makes them prone to scream across the battlefield unsupported and hit big units if you aren't careful.
