I asked this in another thread, but didnt get a response, so...
I really dont like the models for the marauders and i was wondering if it was possible and legal to use the old warriors of chaos models as my marauders regiment. Are they the same size base-wise?
if you say your opponent that they are marauders.
well most people won't make a problem out of it.and at tournies as they are still gw minies i don't see a problem.not sure thought.
if you use warriors use the new warrior models to avoid confusion.
maby a slight conversion. it's not that people will ***** at you for it.
just in case someone else was wondering something similar, i called a nearby GamesWorkshop store and was told there was absolutely no problem, and that the bases were the same so its all good and legal.
Take note though, most tourneys follow the wysiwyg rules, so heavily armoured infantry may not be approved. I can tell you that they convert incredibly well, and provide an opportunity for good fluff, a band of marauders who have been successful in raiding, replace arms and heads on minis etc and you have a regiment of, uh, 'aspiring marauders'. I've seen lots of conversions using not only the old hunchback warriors, but the hunchback knights as well. A guy who used to work at GW near me made an entire "heavy barbarian" army, the models looked great and depending on circumstance he would field either a marauder army or a 'normal' chaos undivided army as the minis filled both roles equally well
