Well I have a game coming up soon against the flithy RATS! Probabley 1000-1500pts. Since I've nevered played them and still very much a newbie, can anyone offer advice?
What should I expect?
Any tactics and/or units from Chaos that are very useful against skaven?
Do you have any idea about what kind of Skaven army you will be playing against? They can tool their list to be magic, swarm, or warmachine heavy and still out number you greatly. As for basic advice, bring a scroll caddy and watch for the warp lightning. Rattling guns are killer and will only blow up if your opponent pushes his luck with them.
40K-Beakies(9-14-4),Guard(4-7-2),Orks(34-12-11). FANTASY-Dwarves(15-6-7),Beasts (14-14-1), Skaven (17-17-10) DoC (6-1-2). CYGNAR (28-15-1)
It's very hard to give advise when I don't know what kind of skaven you will be playing against. If your opponent wants to be very cheesy and power gaming, he will probably go magic heavy and lots of shooting. If that's the type of army you think your opponent will use, try to go magic heavy also. This will give you defense against his magic and will be able to take care of his shooting.
If your opponent likes to have a balanced army and not be a power gamer, he will probably use quite a bit of close combat stuff, and maybe some shooting and a little bit of magic. If this is what you think your opponent will use, then I would probable use khorne, because you can take care of all of the close combat stuff pretty easily and you'll have defense against the little bit of magic he might have.
Hope this helps.
<-- that room over there in my avatar is full of people who think you are funny...BURN...

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
Take some warhounds and marauders as a screen to cover your warriors/knights. The screen will get shot to hell but it will mean your big hititng units should be relativley intact when they get into combat. Also with Marks of Khorne nothing will flee from panic, so you will probably get stuck in.

Being Immune to Psychology doesn't mean you don't have to take Panic Tests. They would flee.
Knights might just be the best idea for this, as well as massed Screamers and Furies (yes, and).
War Hounds and Marauder Riders would be good, also, some Flesh Hounds could do potential Damage, as can a Daemon of Khorne with Master of Mortals, Axe of Khorne and Might of Khorne (that's evil!), or drop Master of Mortals and have a Mortal General, then take those aforementioned Screamers and cause havok amoung his units with Fear and Terror. Skaven don't stop running once they get started, especially when a Daemon chases them up the butt...

Is it any wonder that the world is going to burn in a cleansing flame?
Is it any wonder that the world is coming to a realigious end?"
I don't have the rulebook next to me, but I am pretty sure that you are immune to panic i you are immune to psychology. Panic is a type of psychology. As an undead player, with all my units being immune to psychology, i have never once taken a panic test with them (the eligible units that is).Originally Posted by Darmort
Now, immune to psychology does not mean you are immune to break tests. Maybe that's what you are talking about.

Has anyone found a tactic against SAD builds besides punching the guy in the stomach and stealing his army case?
Yeah I have.
make medium strength large quantity units. I.E. 4 units of 4 knights. 3 units of 5 horsemen with flails and musc. SCREAMERS to deny an entire flank of shooting. Also try 4 units of 10 warriors with add. hw. and an aspiring champion with Banner of the Gods behind them. Most impotantly TZEENTCH make those slave units into horrors and then cackle maniachaly as your 3 exalted of tzeentch reign down the horror creating spells.
Also a HUGE nipple twister
