im playing Undivided, 2000 pts. and my army almost always do VERY well.
i have a unit of 12 marauders with flails, but these have never done anything of use..
they die so easy, and rarely kill anything.
im then thinking of swapping them with 2 units of 5 marauder horsemen.
that way, ill get some nice shooting (thr. axes) and the fast cavalry. i love the horsemen, and hate the marauders on foot.. shall i remove the "flailers" and take the fast cavalry instead.. what is your oppinion?
i usely used the marauders for screening, but i got 20 beasts, 6 screamers and 10 warhounds to do that job.. so the horsemen could be the flankers and the shoot-flee-rally-shoot-units...
advice is much needed
12 Marauders are useless, but get 25, now thats a unit which will scare your enemy, probably soak up alot of shooting and still be potent in combat. Marauder horsemen are great when used right though, so try both and see what works for your army and play best (are you sure you can get 10 marauder horsemen for the cost of 12 marauders on foot?)

how would 12 marauders with flails allow u enough points for 2 units of 5 marauder horsemen? u can only get 1 unit for the point cost
neways, you seem a little bit confused liek i was when i started with chaos a few short months ago. first u need to ask yourself what that unit was tryign to do. if it was used for static combat u might want to up its size liek tau guy said.
im presumign thats not what it was used for, it was proabably used to break units or soemthgin to that effect sicne the bonus for the flails only apply in the first round. if thats the case then maybe marauder horsemen with flails wiould be a better option. they move faster, give u the extra attack from the warhorse and will give u the same armor save presuming u bought light armor for the marauders in the first place.
