Not tactics for using Chaos Warbands. What I want to know, is what sort of tactics do Chaos Warbands use "in-game", that is, in the actual world of Warhammer. I've read/heard about Nurgle Warbands that masquerade as travelling fairs/carnivals/circuses, luring in innocent victims and then revealing themselves for the plague-spawn they truly are and slaughtering them. But what about the other Warbands? The followers of Tzeentch, Slaanesh, Chaos Undivided or Khorne? What sort of tricks and strategies do they use?

Terror, the Human Form Divine
And Secrecy, the Human Dress
I think you've misinterpreted what the Cavalcade of Nurgle really is. They don't usually 'masquerade' as a travelling circus, they just roam the wilderness in search of helpless villages to invade. There is absolutely no mistaking the filthy, rotting, stinking, disease-ridden wagons and carts of Nurgles Cavalcade! :xOriginally Posted by Unseen Lurker
As for the rest, it depends on whether you're talking about Cults or actual Warbands. Cults are the enemy within, and they use all sorts of unsavoury methods to further their agendas, such as bribery, extortion, threats, assassinations, poisoning of water and food supplies, magic, corruption of government officials, etc.
Most cults are either Undivided, Slaanesh or Tzeentch, as these followers can hide most easily within normal society. There are Nurgle cults, but their followers are often diseased and possibly rotting, so they can only live within the poorest areas of a city without being exposed. There are few, if any, Khorne cults that can exist in a civilised society, any that do spring up are quickly caught and destroyed after they start their murderous killing sprees in the name of their god!
Warbands are the groups of warriors, mutants, beastmen, sorcerers and thugs that band together partly for survival and partly to commit vile acts in the name of their chosen god. As for tactics, warbands of any alignment usually use hit and run tactics pretty much all the time, regardless of whether they're attacking a village, a trade caravan or a group of travellers. They only engage in open battle against enemies like the Empire when they have joined up with either an army of chaos or with other warbands.

I believe that the Liber Chaotica also detailed that Nurgle warbands will circle around a target village or town for 3 days, getting closer each time, singing and making general merriment just to drive the victims mad with despair. That's just cool.
I read that too in the old chaos book:wacko: :x
According to the Liber Chaotica, most Slaaneshi cults take the form of crazy sex parties.
In addition, many of the nobility with too much time for pleasure start secret alters to Slaanesh in their manors, and usually become the focal points for cults. A person could think they were just going to their favorite kinky club, and then years later find out that they've been worshipping Slaanesh. However by then, it's far too late, and the other pleasures in life not associated with the Prince of Excess simply will not do.
Indeed fat-badger, that's just about spot on for Slaaneshi cults!
