I'm in a warbands campaign at the local GW and I was thinking of making one warband (its map based so there's are multiple bands) just a daemon unit champion and as many nurgling bases as I can squeeze into the points. However, it occurs to me, I've never actually used Nurglings in a game and, on paper at least, they seem kinda "meh." They're the weakest swarm-type unit I've seen and I'm not sure if this, while amusing, warband would just get runover in the first couple turns.
Actually, nurglings are very good swarms. They have a good toughness (swarms have a Toughness of 2 in general) and use the cloud of flies rule, so harder to hit.Originally Posted by notkeysersoze
They only problem with them is that they don't exactly dish out a great amount of pain.
What you could do is have 1-2 units of plaguebearers, 2 nurgling bases, and a plague beast for some hard hitting support.
What's the points for your starting warband?
The one thing I've learned with Nurglings in 40K at least, is that small units of them do nothing, so unless you are using them as a cheap blocker, I'd go with lots of them.(So...either few, or lots or none at all. Crap. I sound like the Trolls in the Hobbit)

The warbands start at 250 and get up to 500. So obviously anything involving demons is going to start out with veeeery few models.
it all comes down to your personal playing style, me i absolutely refuse to sink that many points into a squad that if you fail a leadership test could disapear completely for absolutely no reason other than they are tired and need a nap. such things have no place in a battle-hardened chaos army or warband and by no means should ever be called upon to do more than lead your opponents away from the truly important units (which is pretty much everything else).
now that thats over with, how attached to the little er ...... snotballs (is that accurate) are you cus they are very expensive and probably best left to being "pointfillers"
