Welcome to Librarium Online!
hey there, my name is andy and im new to this forum and warhammer, i painted em for fun about 4 years ago, but starting up again, and gonna play.
i found an old daemon prince and was wondering how i could fit that into the army, as a lord or hero, i understand it can change depending on if its exalted or regular?
Im starting out just getting a chaos warriors set, but where do i go from there?
thinkin about undivided so i dont have to restrict myself between the 4 army types.
would i be able to use the daemon prince/exalted daemon as a hero? or would i need the undivided hero? basicaly anyhelp would be really nice
thanks in advance
the exalted daemon counts as 2 hero choices. If it is the general the core army must be demon unless he has the gift master of mortals. but it does start out as undivided unless you give it another mark. Can also take the exalted champion for general and and have the demon as another hero but that is 330 pts before upgrades.
so it would be a better idea just to get a undivided hero, not a daemon just the little dude.
and what is the difference between a lord/hero/champion/ and a general in terms of who they are and what armys they can be a part of.
there are 3 armies for chaos: mortal, demon, and beast. the general decides your army. Your core units have to be the same as your general so if your general is beast your core units have to be beast. so because of this its up to you if you use the demon or the exalted champion or another character instead.
your general is the character with the highest leadership. your units can use his leadership skill instead of their own for leadership tests if they are within 12" of the general.
depending on army size you are allowed a certain amount of lords and heros. lords are stronger and cost more points.
heros are the next level down. Still stronger than normal units but not as strong as lords. Cost less points than lords.
champions are upgraded from the unit, like a unit leader. typically gives 1 more attack than the rest of the unit and sometimes better stats.
this is just a basic description, there are lots more to the characters than I have said, it would be best to get the core book and the army books for chaos to learn more of this stuff.
ok i understand this much more now, thanks alot!
ill get one of those books as soon as i can
