What is the best size for a unit of Warroirs of Chaos? I know the box come with 12, but is that enough?
It is a bit short, a single loss and their rank bonus goes down by one (undless they were deployed 2x6 but then they already start with one rank less). And most enemy Infantry is likely to have three ranks and outnumbering. So your're already losing by three. Thats for regular Chaos Warriors very hard to compensate (unless they're khornies with halberds, they might do the trick). Chosen ones usually do better, but they're very expensive.
i use 15 or 20. i never use more than 15 if they are chosen, because i may be losing combat by 2 already, but i get a lot of attacks and i will probably win. I might even kill enough to get the outnumber.
for normal warriors, use 20, because they dont have enough attacks to hold at a US of 15. at 20, they will prolly kill some and not take many casualties(especially if they have HW shield)

It also depends on what mark you will give them. Undivided should have more warriors that any other, fallowed by nurgle ( to use that fear ), Tzeench, Slannesh and khorne being the smallest unit.
20 for undivided and nurgle is a nice number, 16 for others is a standard for static combat resolution.
I tend to go for between 15 and 20 because that way you can soak up a few losses before your combat resolution gets damaged too badly. Mind you if you charge with a unit with a mark of khorne they normally do alright regardless of the size.

15 is the best size.20 is too much and less than 15 is too small
i agree with that 15. However, i was wondering about chaos knights, if they should be units of 10 or 5 and if the chosen mark is worth it, it does give a nother armor point and another attack, but then they become very expensive.
10 chaos knight makes for a very expensive unit. I tend to put mine in fives as it means my opponent has to split fire between more units if they are being shot at.
Chosen knights are worth it, they kill pretty much whatever you put in front of them and are pretty much bulletproof (except against bolt throwers and other such goodies). You certainly don't need more than 5 of them as that gets outrageously expensive by the time you include a mark and a standard etc.

For warriors, I use units of between 15 and 18 depending on how many points I have to play with. Though I have been known to use 19-20 warriors on occasion! If I have two Champions in the army, the warriors will usually be led by one of them, otherwise the Marauders get the character (they need his leadership and combat ability more than the warriors do!). It really annoys me when players select tiny units of 12-14 warriors and then expect them to win against 25-strong enemy units. They seem to forget that numbers and rank bonuses count for a hell of a lot in Warhammer!
I've only ever used 5-strong units of Tzeentch knights. I never upgrade them to chosen (too expensive for small games) and their main role is for flank attacking and destroying annoying smaller units, but the extra power dice from their mark helps too. Though if the enemy has lots of cannons, I usually think twice about taking knights.
Chosen status is much more value for points when applied to warriors rather than knights. Knights are expensive enough already and warriors benefit more from the extra armour and attacks than the tiny units of knights do. That's my thoughts anyway.

15 is good a frontage of 5 warriors and 2 rank bonuses.
