I was wondering about using Duelists with pistols in my mortal chaos army. Has anyone done this?
is it consitered rather unfluffy (not necessarly a bad thing, but i dont want to be all that bad).
And if anyone has tried converting some, what they used, muraders with empire milita arms (would that even work?)
Kinda unfluffy, yes. In my book .. chaos doesn't shoot.
phh whats unfluffy about it?, a chaos gods may look unfavorably on their followers who have a outbreak of commonsense and pick up a gun (except those pesky dwarfs) but i doubt they would have a problem if the guy hired some, seriously why take dogs of war if not to work around list weaknesses thats the sole reason for them

Just out of interest, why do you want duellists with pistols?
They're not particularly long-ranged, although they can hurt armoured units
a little. If you're using them to screen your troops from missile fire, why
bother giving them pistols? Just wondering ...
I use duellists (w/ pistols) occasionally in my Khorne mortals list. They have a few purposes: Marchblocking infantry while shooting them up, assaulting things in terrain, fanatic hunting, mage hunting, claiming table corners. If I field them without pistols, they are sacrificial.
I see nothing wrong with using them. If you were going with a highly themed army they'd be a bit out of place (nurgle nurgle nurgle nurgle, duelists, for example) but for generic chaos where not everything is marked by a god, whatever. A lot less wierd than including dwarves in an elf army, or vice versa.
I've just used the empire militia set. I think marauders with militia arms would look wierd. as the torsos would be bare chested and the arms would be clothed. Also the arms will look weedy on those marauder models. You could try just loping off the pistols and putting those on the marauders, but I think it'd look disproportional there also. Dwarf pistols are another possibiliy, if you chopped off the ancestor glyphs. But you really need marauder arms if you want marauder torsos.
