i fielded a 3k army laborday weekend with the following general:
Blade of Blood
Crown of Everlasting Conquest
Mount: Chaos Dragon
i couldnt believe the destruction this guy wrought. he has 2+ armor, regen AND you can DOUBLE his wounds to total **6** after killing a few troops! on top of that the dragon is the best out there have 2 flame breaths and 6's across his stats.
imo, the blade of blood has got to be one of the best magic weapons in HoC. you take a str test and the only failure is a 6 (chaos lord is str5) to gain a wound. i wouldnt leave home without it. this character ends up costing almost the exact same amount as a Greater Daemon without the worry of instability.
try it out!!
cost the same as a greater deamon but doesnt cast any spells, thats the difference.

The blade of blood is indeed very good. However I only take it if I'm taking a masochist lord. Usually I prefer a weapon that adds something to my killing power. The rending sword is a great item against large enemies, or a simple sword of might or striking will add oomph in combat.
The dragon is potent yes, but it really is a target for shooting. I would only really recommend a dragon for Tzeentch armies who have access to the golden eye. Otherwise without a ward save your lord can quite easily go down to a cannonball.
The Hierarchy Chaotica: Kinky Sex > Change > Disease > Blood
98% of the population actually believes these stupid statistics. If you're part of the 2% of humanity with a brain, put this in your profile.
I've never tried it but now when you guys mention it I just might give it a go. I do however agree with Fat_Badger that it's a bit better to add to the fighting power of the character.Originally Posted by Fat_BadgerIf the enemy's got cannons yes ..Originally Posted by Fat_Badger
i was fighting O&G that had a lot of bolt throwers, and yea it eventually got taken down by them, but not until i stomped a giant, some savage orcs, and made 3 units of goblins flee. the dragon went down, but i was able to put my surviving gen in a nearby unit of warriors.
i like that tzeench idea. maybe ill try that some time. not a big fan of the tzeench theme tho. guess i cant knock it till i try it :shifty:
