Ive been out of fantasy for a long time, too long, and ive been looking at getting back into it. Ive got an Empire army but im chaos at heart. I like the idea of a undivided mounted list storming over the hills, cruching everything under hoof.
Ive not made a list, id like to go to 1500, but have passed thought over the following units in the army.
Exalted champ on daemoinc mount, most likely with BoB and ES
Two level two SoC on Chariots
Units of knights and chariots (carrying the SoC above)
Furies (cause ive never owned any daemon models)
In addition to knights, chariots and furies, you should consider:
Marauder Horsemen (you shouldn't really consider these so much as get some.)
Bestigor (for wooded terrain, and potential rank bonus)
Monsters: Ogres, Minotaurs, Trolls, Dragon Ogres (for attacks and multi-wound resiliance)
Screamers (more flyers)
Beast herds (cause maneuverable skirmishing infantry that can get rank bonuses never hurts) (also more hooves to crunch things under).
I would be tempted to put those sorcerers in with some maruader horsemen, as they would have the maneuverability to cast on the units they wanted to wreck. Mounted sorcerers are also valid.
Hope some of that helps.
I agree with Kooshlord, mix it up man. Many, many people have come up with a "new mounted list" with 4 or so units of knights each screened by a unit of warhounds. Nothing else - which IMHO is a massive exploitation of the rules :realmad: , and above all really booring. Use at most 2 units of knights as your core, but include at least 2-3 units of marauder horsemen. Furies are in any chaos army a must, and beyond that go for the models you think look coolest. Even a "perfect" list will be marred if you think it looks horrible.
Food for thought man, hope it helped.
What is the most humane way to kill a lobster, in the fridge or with Michael Bolton music?
