    Chaos Warhound Alternative?

    Hi,

Currently building my Warhammer army and looking to add some warhounds. However, I don't like the current metal ones for two reasons.

    1. They are metal and expensive, and very cheap in pts makes it worse.
    2. Don't quite like the look of them.

Anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? I play a themed Slaanesh army if that helps. Had I sold my soul to Tzeentch I think I could convert some Kroot from 40k to count as hounds.

    Many thanks in advance.

Kroot hounds are equally expensive, and I know from experience ^_^

Wolf Riders can give you 10 models for the price of the standard box set. There aren't many other alternatives really.

Yes, buy some goblin wolves and hold them over a heat source, melting them into wierd shapes. That's how you make chaos hounds.

I dont like chaos hounds either, use dire wolves from the vampire counts army...

They look vicious enough to be chaos hounds, and they are on the same sized bases. Am not entirely sure about the cost though, but they look better,

Hmm, dire wolves do look sweet. And they are a pound cheaper, too!

Goblin riders are definitely the cheapest option though. I would say go goblin if you want cheap, go vampire if you want your hounds to have class.

In the woodelf classic section of the new GW guide there are a bunch of different creatures, I however dont know how much they cost...

What I think would be awsome is if you had a unit of Chaos Squigs...

Or you could use old cold ones, they have a kinda "raptor" look too them.

    Two suggestions:
Mordheim Beast hounds. They look much better than their chaos chums, however are still metal and would cost the same as chaos hounds.
A Slaanesh army you say? What shape are slaanesh beasts? Snakey/wormy. Whats the easiest shape to make with green stuff? You've got it! You dont like the models? Make your own! It would be as simple as rolling up some weird greenstuff worms and sticking marauder heads at the front. Obviously this sounds overly simple but the point is that it wouldnt be that costly or difficult to make yourself some weird fast looking things that fit on a cavalry base. Plus they'd be unique - and thats what slaanesh loves! (Well, i suppose he likes other things, none of which I'm willing to type out)
Theres nothing false about this monkey. I'm simian through and through.

not sure what kind of things ur looking for, for your warhounds...
but how about dark elder warpbeasts £4 for 2 isnt bad, and they look chaosy they were one of the prospective choices for my warhounds, tho i think im gonna convert some kroot carnivores myself, since im using about 20 of hounds....

infact... that springs on another good idea, off topic, but kroot carnivores can be flayerkin with a little modification....
