Just a discussion that came up around the game store the other day amoungst myself and somemore dedicated Chaos chaps, semi-fluff, semi-rules twinking a hypothetical list for one purpose.
The idea was the following...
Had to be a Chaos army type (either 3 or combinations, anything legal basically)
General had to be Khorne, rest could be whatever you want legally
Army has to be as magic immune as insanely possible, while being geared to kill what was described as the "big 5" of magic armies for fluff purposes by the guy that came up with the idea
+a 2nd gen Slann led LMan list,
+a VC list with a Nech and at least 2 Necros,
+a TK list with enough bound items it counts as a bondage fetish,
+OnG list depending on cheap shamans and lotsa Orcs for the extra casting dice when in combat,
+a HE list with all caster characters [one player argued for an Empire gunline/magicline mix but since fluff is supposed to be part of this, not counting HE when talking about Khorne bashing casters just seemed... well wrong quite frankly]
The theoretical list someone came up with that performed best (again in theory at least, this was just for fun) against all 5 comers... with special note to it reaming their magical components [ie ability to kill the casters by games end of 6 turns] and ignoring their magical mojojojo... being the winner.
The debate and non-stop tweaking people made as they made points, listened to others points, and changed their list trying to be the first to the 'best' killed a good 3 hours, but I figured since we enjoyed the discussion so much, why not kick it up here to the forums?
SO what do you take?
What army type do you center around?
What's your character plan?
What units/upgrades etc do you take?
Since the lists are theoretical and just for fun we didn't get into details of points costs, just generics of "i'd take this with this upgrade for a core, this for a special" or "i'd do this character with these upgrades and items" etc. Common sense in what overall would still fall under 2250 though the winning list idea would have to be put to paper and shown to be under.
Making Sisters of Battle into Women of Battle
Give a Rep Star if you like what someone said. Especially Me. I'm an unabashed Star whore. Blame my 2nd grade teacher and those stupid good behavior stickers. I'm just conditioned. I'm the Pavlov's Dog of stars.
You win with VP, NOT with kills
Well, putting a Collar of Khorne on your general, and putting him in a good ol' unit of uber death gives you a cheap 2 dispell dice. Being in a nasty unit, It should act as a magnet for spells and since both need to be marked ..... Will most probably work in the first turn, maybe the second and after that. Assuming your opponent hasn't got too many archers it should keep him away from them til they get in CC.
If you want to be realy nasty, give your (lord) general the spell eater shield and try your best to get a nasty spell cast at him. If you can dispell it (with the inbuilt CoK) on a 4+ mage looses that spell.
Meh, cheap tricks. Hope they aren't too old mate.
What is the most humane way to kill a lobster, in the fridge or with Michael Bolton music?
The only way khorne will create enough dice to beat a slann and the inevitabe 2 skins running around is to crank out alot of small characters and units. If you want to have equal to that maney dice you need at least 9 units, and If you want to be able to fight off the rest of the army you cant realy do that. I would sujest scroll caddys, but i dont think that fits fluff.
