Thread: Inquisitor Retinue

  1. #1

So yesterday I played an IG group and wiped out the troops with my sisters quick, but I could not bust a tank. I was looking to add some firepower to my Inquisistors retinue.

I was looking at The Plasma Cannon and Multi Melta's for Gun Servitor's.

What models do you use for the retinue with these weapons?

I was thinking of a Space Marine with them but you can not use them with sisters or does it not matter since they are part of a retinue. This is curious to me since the only model I can find with the Plasma Cannon is the space marine.

You can use a Space Marine model, sure. You're just not allowed actual things from the codices. Though fluffwise it wouldn't make much sense to use a Space Marine model, since the fluff says that they only call on Smurfs when there're no Sisters, but that fluff was only created in the first place to explain the rule against Sisters and Smurfs together which was created from a game balance point of view...

Where am I going with this? Not far, just to say that, when interpreting hard rules, modelling and fluff should not be applied. On the other hand, taking into account the actual models and fluff will make for a much nicer feel to the army.

Yeah... I hope that made sense.

Demonhunters and Witchhunters ranges have the same servitor models...

Did not see a daemonhunter servitor with those weapons. I will look again.

    Thank you.

I also quickly realized if someone throws heavy artillery with 14 armor I need something alot stronger than just normal troops.

What works on that level of armor.

Seraphim with Melta Bombs, Sister Repentia or Zealots with Eviscerators, those are your best bets.

Aren't we forgetting Mr '1D6 rockets'.

I would say no to the Sister Repentia as you have to march them to the target, seraphim with inferno pistols and a vss with an inferno and melta bombs should take out any tank your opponent will field.

And yes there is that nice long range tank bustin' machine called the exorcist.
We rode on the winds of the rising storm,
We ran to the sound of the thunder.
We danced among the lightning bolts
    And tore the world asunder.

It's a damn shame that inferno Pistols from the armoury are for 'Inquisitor Lords and Adeptus Soriatas Heroines only'.

Seraphim VSS with inferno Pistols would be nice.
