Default Need some suggestion

Right now, I am mainly playing against my friend Chaos, his havoc squad's 4 auto-cannon tank hunters are a total nightmare to my mechanise army. If he gets the first turn, he'll always destroy/immolise one of my rhino and destroy/immolise one each turn after that.

What's the best way to deal with this autocannon tank hunter (8 shot krak missile equivalent)? I always try to take 2 rhino/1 immo, or 3 rhinos in a 1000 pt game, but they always go down before they could do anything.. and that's 150 pts plus upgrades gone.. and leaves my army foot-slogging through the 24'' of open field against a semi-shooty chaos army. Help please

Oh and one more problem.. how can we deal with front armor 14 chaos predator/land raiders without lascannon? Surely it cant be a front armor 11 immolator with twin-linked multi-melta .. or foot-slogger with meltas, they'll never reach it/catch up to it before they get obliterated

I do have 1 exorcist (at least one, always).. but in a 1000pt game, i cant field more than one of it any other suggestion? and.. i am afraid of his 8 shots str8 autocannon (due to tank hunter), I dont want to leave my exorcist in LoS to the Havoc Squad.

firstly, always use exorcists in groups of 3 or more. Dont put them in LOS. remember he cant move and shoot, but you can. if he gets 1st turn then you wont be in LOS but if you do then you can roll out and light him up!

My back up AT is a mounted battle sister squad w/ 2 meltas.

then as a reserve i have eviscerators.

Getting more than three exorcists is quite impossible

Anyway, concerning the havocs, a retributor squad with heavy bolters would probably do the trick, especially with a divine guidance at some point.

As for AV14 tanks, exorcists are not very reliable against them, I'd recommend seraphim with inferno pistols or meltabombs.

150pts upgrade? o.o

Your should really only give rhinos just extra armour and smoke launchers. If you ride up 12" and release smoke he can only glancing hit you. Do this for each rhino and you should be within reach by turn two. Also keep note the standard battle size tends to mean that the armies are 24" apart with 12" deployment, you shouldn't really be letting him deploy 48" away if that whats he's doing.

You shouldn't have any problems feilding 3 transports and 2 exorcists and still have room for your HQ. Just cut down on everything else, like celestians, retributors inquisitors etc. It's always worth keeping your tanks behind cover so he cannot shoot you first turn, just presume he will get first turn when you deploy your units, that way you're prepared at least.

Oh yeh, last of all exorcists can match the range of Havoc Autocannons, so if you aim at them it's quite an easy kill for two of them.

Yes to the two Exorcists.
It is possibly the most cost-effective tank in the game.
On average, two Exorcists will trump his Autocannon Predators.
Do the math, and it will be obvious.

After losing four or more Predators this way, he's going to start putting Lascannons on his Predators, in which case you will have to be more careful.

An enemy LandRaider is like a gift.
It is a very expensive piece of equipment, and it is easy for WH to trump.

My favorite method is the Eviscerator, which has an effective 2D6 range of 18" and it hits 3-4 times, and is mobile, and can jump over terrain on a jump-packer. And if you consider how you can Jump Back out of a CC during the Opponent's Assault Phase, then your 2D6 Effecive range can actually go as far as 36".

It's hard to believe that your potentially longest range tank-killer is a sword. (Evis)
And it's hard to belive that WH has one of the most competitive tanks in the game. (Exorcist)

I try to have 1-2 Eviscerators in the army.
I try to always have 2 Exorcists in the army.

Red,
I'm assuming this is on a Seraphim?
