Rep Power: 45 ![]() | Originally my retinue was like this: 209: Inquisitor w/ Bolter Acolyte w/ Carapace and Bolter 3 warriors w/ plasmaguns A Chirurgeon/healer A penitent Mounted in a chimera w/ ML, HB, Smoke and EA But after a while, I, being me, changed my mind and I am considering changing my retinue to something that isn't quite as suicidal. I would like the unit to be able to deal with the tougher things in other armies, so I was wondering if I should swap 2 of the plasmaguns (I have 1 modelled already!) for meltaguns, or should I drop 1 plasmagun for a grenade launcher, which could give me a high strength shot or a template? What do you guys think i should do? |

Well it all really depends on what role you want your =][= to fill. Meltas have a shorter range than the plasma cannon/heavy bolters. Grenade launchers are good, but are you going to be assaulting with your =][=? While decent enough in combat, I wouldn't recommend charging in with your Inquisitor or his retinue. (at least I haven't had much luck with that strategy )If you are going for a stand and shoot =][=, plasma cannon would be way to go. I usually take one with 2 vet. gaurd with plasmas. Important to take the two sages for the re-roll though. For a more mobile firebase, I'd suggest acolytes w/ stormbolters, vet gaurd w/ meltas. |

Firstly, i don't think my Inquisitor will ever get into assault because I want him to fight- he much better off shooting. I see him a small, fast moving unit capable of bringing some heavier weapons to bear. Meltaguns would give me both anti-personnel fire-power and anti-tank capabilities. 2 plasmaguns and a grenade launcher would give me a template or a high strength shot, plus plasma goodness. My 2 favourite set-ups are: 1, 2 plasmaguns and a grenade launcher 2. 2 meltaguns and a plasmagun. |
