Hi guys, I'm new to LO and to the Wood Elves. Until recently I was a sworn devotee of the Gods of Chaos, but when we started a warbands campaign I decided to take the opportunity to start a new army. Anyways, I'm hooked
I've got my forst larger battle planned for tomorrow night (sorry for the short notice) and I was hoping you guys could help me out wth tweaking my list. I will be facing an Empire army (2000 pts.). I expect a big unit of greatswords, a fair number of knights, a mage or two (maybe three), a couple cannons, and some handgunners and pistoliers. I will be able to get in at least three woods (6" by 4" table), not counting the additional 6" wood for the pitched battle, and there will be a hill in each deployment zone (my opponent nearly always does that). I should be able to position a wood in each deployment zone.
This is the list I made:
Bow of Loren
Hail of Doom Arrow
Helm of the Hunt
Level 1 wizard
Cluster of Radiants
10 Glade Guard
*Highborn goes here*
10 Glade Guard
10 Glade Guard
9 Dryads with Branch Nymph
*Branchwraith goes here*
*Wardancer Noble goes here*
3 Warhawk Riders
The glade guard with the highborn stays on the hill, the other 2 glade guard units go in front of the two smaller dryad units, fleeing when charged. The waywatchers go in the 6" forest which I plan to position dead center. The wardancers will moonstone to the enemy deployment zone. The alter, the treeman, teh dryads with the branchwraith and the warhawk riders will probably take the flanks, with the warhawks going mage hunting a.s.a.p.
So, tell me what you think!
Thanks a lot!

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
I would make your Alter Noble your Highborn with the folliwing configuration: Helm of the Hunt, Arcane Bodkins, Bow of Loren, Great Weapon, Light Armor, and a Shield. Against a majority T3 Army you're getting 5 shots a turn with some arrows and your opponent doesn't get any armor saves. I think this guy is a much better choice!
The Wardancer Noble looks great....exactly how I run mine.
The Branchwraith can't take a Dispel Scroll so I would suggest adding a scroll caddy in here to help with magic defense.
The Dryads are looking great 3 units of 8 are going to do you just fine!
The Waywatchers are a hit or miss thing with me I would just use them for Warmachine hunting.
I have never used Warhawk Riders so I can't give you any adive there but I can see where they would come in handy.
I love the Treeman I usually run 2 in 2K points!!!! I LOVE EM!!!!!!!
Welcome to the Wood Elves and LO!!!! The Wood Elves forum is extremely active and everyone is very helpful!
If anybody disagrees with me Chuck Norris will roundhouse kick you in the face.....not really. But wouldn't it be cool?
