Welcome to Librarium Online!
The cursed GW changed their point value on the Tournament... it's now 750 and 1,500pts.
I've pretty much got the basic down for both army lists, the only problems I am worrying about.. is the 1+ armour save knights, a steam tank, or even 2 Ogre Bruisers with Tenderizer and Siegebreaker. These things will really wreck my game in these point value as I dont have nearly enough things to respond to that.
Anyone have any suggestion on taking down these monsters in such small point game? Oh! Especially 750pts, 2 Bruisers with Siegebreaker and Tenderizer... or even a monkey player that bring in a Steam Tank in such small game.
See my late reply to your other army post and maybe with those points you could take some waywatchers the killing blow short range may or may not help. as for the +1 saves anyway
I have some serious trouble taking on those 1+ saves, even with Killing Blows I am still relying on rolling 6's. Being a Wood Elf in combat, if I dont kill my opponent by rolling 6's, chances are.. I am going to be chopped into spaghetti in return... Anyone has a better way of taking them on with Wood Elves? I do play other armies (my friends), such as the Vampire Counts, and their Skeletons laugh at the 1+ saves because they simply don't care.. Wood Elves dont have anything like that to be expandable.
Outnumber+Flank+Wild Riders=Auto Break.
If you can get the flank with some wild riders, chances are, you,ll be able to kill the one knight in base contact with your riders, they shouldn't have any attacks back so you should be able to break and overrun them.
About those bruisers, get an annoyance of netlings on an Alter Noble W/ a great weapon/Sword of might or Wardancer noble, or even a wild rider noble. Whatever you choose, the Netlings will provide a huge level of protection in a challenge and tie up the tenderizer and siegebreaker attacks.
You can ever only fit two units of Dryads into one combat against a 4 by 5 rank and file troops, and you'll never only going to get 3 models from each unit to attack. You are already losing the fight by 4-5 before the combat starts... not to mention if you are fighting against stuff that are fear-causing themselves -- Ogres?
Also, most of my games are played (actually all but one game) on 4x4, and Ogres or anyone else, just set up their entire army in one line so there is really no way you can actually flank something.. without having a unit to bait/receive the charge and hope they hold with insane courage.
