Is that an Alter Noble? Or just regular noble?

    Treeman Ancient - 375pts
Cluster of Radiants, Annoyance of Nettlings
    Nice

    Noble - 151pts
    Hail of Doom Arrow, Briarsheath
    Great Weapon, Shield
Fine, assuming this is an alter

    Spellsinger - level 2 - 175pts
    Calaingor's Stave, Dispel Scroll
Going for the mass treesinging every turn, not a bad idea

    Spellsinger - level 1 - 140pts
    Dispel Scroll x2
    Good defence

    10 Glade Guard - 126pts
    Musician
    OK

    10Glade Guard - 126pts
    Musician
    OK

    8 Dryads - 96pts
    Fine

    8 Dryads - 96pts
    Fine
    5 Glade Riders - 129pts
    Musician
    Yep

    8 Wardances - 151pts
    Musician
    Good

    3 Warhawk Riders - 120pts
    OK

    3 Tree-kin - 195pts
Here is where I would make changes. I prefer these guys 4 wide for the extra attacks and unit strength so you get better combat resolution. I would either up this to 4 and switch the waywatchers for an eagle, or drop these guys for some wild riders.

    5 Waywatchers - 120pts
    See above
Totals to exactly 2000. Thanks in advance for all your help and criticism
There is my two cents. Hope you do well.

Thank you sirkently, and yes it is an alter, i was posting in a hurry:rofl

i was considering using wildriders instead, and having both at 2,250, so which of the below would be better???

    5 Wild Riders - 191pts
Musician, Standard, Wild Hunter, War Banner

    or

    6 Wild Riders - 190pts
    Musician, Standard, Wild Hunter

I like the wild riders 6 wide for the same reason as I like treekin 4 wide.

    By all thats unholy!!!

urrgh, i have a rough idea of all opponents, we're lookin at:

2-3 Vampire Counts (one player is renowned for bein a cheeselord)
1 Tomb Kings (all magic but no casket, 2 screaming catapults?)
1 Ogre Kingdoms (know the guy well, hammer him every game)
2 Orcs and Goblins (surprisingly both magic heavy pure gobbo lists)
    1 High Elves
2 Dwarves (one guys is lyk totally elite)
    2 Empire
1 Wood Elves other than me surprisingly (lots of spirits but with bowfire)
-and i think one skaven, maybe a couple others yet.

Mainly concerned with the undead armies, not much experience against them but i know the new vampires are nighmarish. Anyone have a few tips vs them? And the forest woodies, if i play him it will be interesting

    thanks in advance again all;Y

    Do your tournaments have peer based composition scores? My comments are from my personal experiences in my local tournament scene where wood elves are hated. So with that in mind;

    Treeman Ancient - 375pts
Cluster of Radiants, Annoyance of Nettlings

This will win you no friends, an Ancient is incredibly hard to kill and giving it AoN will annoy your opponents. This is one of the particular combo's that non-WE players hate with a passion.

    Noble - 151pts
    Hail of Doom Arrow, Briarsheath
    Great Weapon, Shield

    Cool. Nice alter.

    Spellsinger - level 2 - 175pts
    Calaingor's Stave, Dispel Scroll

    Spellsinger - level 1 - 140pts
    Dispel Scroll x2

For 2000pts thats a fair bit of magic defence. I'd suck it up with just 2 scrolls and use the spare points on something else.

    10 Glade Guard - 126pts
    Musician

    10Glade Guard - 126pts
    Musician

    8 Dryads - 96pts

    8 Dryads - 96pts

    5 Glade Riders - 129pts
    Musician

    8 Wardances - 151pts
    Musician

Pretty standard fare. Making the dryad units bigger will win brownie points.

    3 Warhawk Riders - 120pts

    3 Tree-kin - 195pts

    5 Waywatchers - 120pts

    Seem solid.

Totals to exactly 2000. Thanks in advance for all your help and criticism
Any particular reason you don't have wildriders? They are an invaluable flanker and hit very hard.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.

Well, like in previous posts ancients make no friends so i have never used one but with AoN i might have to.The only thing i have a problem with is close to no units that are durable enough to withstand charges and its something i always consider but yea you got to know what your doin.

I'd like to add my voice to those criticising the 3 treekin. In my experience, ogre type things need to be 4+, else they don't have the staying power. I'm not a huge fan of treekin anyway, but if you're goin to have them, have 4. With a free rare slot, I'd always try to squeeze an eagle in - they are seriously useful!

As mentioned above, i have swapped the tree-kin for 6 Wild Riders with full command. Never really used them before, but tried them against my beastmen "friend" yesterday and blasted him with them. 18 up the board, Call of the Hunt into the side of his warhounds(wiped them out of course), Overran into his chariot and smashed that to bits too! No one left in the way (everyone else decided to get outof their way), overran to unoccupied corner where they sat comfortably for the rest of the game!!!

Wood Elves have no friends to begin with around here lol. so the ancient is fine. usually when im painting at the local gw, you get comments like "so when are you going to start playing a real army?" silly, but satisfying when they still charge my glade riders when i play them. XD

@Skarsgard: do you think i should drop one scroll to put both dryad units to 9men?

They definately are the better choice, thanks guys. i just have a soft spot for tree-kin (sooo beefy lol)

So what am i to do about the undead (both VC and Tomb Kings)? they are the ony armies i dont have much experience against. I do know one of the VC players always uses 2 varghulfs and another takes cairn wraiths and the black coach. and i know next to nothing about tomb kings except the have really angry magic.

    Can anyone help me out?
