Here is a new list I have made to combat the increase in magic lately. Lets here what you have to say.
Spellweaver Level 3 (General)
Magic: Wand of Wych Elm, Glamourweave
Branchwraith Level 1
Spites: A Cluster of Radiants
Spellsinger Level 1 Glamourweave Kindred
Magic: Dispel Scroll x2
Noble Alter Kindred
Equipment: Light Armour, Shield, Great Weapon
Magic: Helm of the Hunt, Hail of Doom Arrow
Glade Guard-10 w/musician
Glade Riders-5 w/musician
Wild Riders-6 w/FC & Warbanner
Wild Riders-6 w/musician
I stayed away from going all out magic with a level 4 and level 2's due to comp scores in the tournaments I play in and to have points available for other units. And I was more interested in dispel dice than trying to destroy things with magic. The weaver would go with lore of life usually. Any changes you people would suggest?
I considered doing a dispel based list a long time ago, but never thought it would work. Your list does look very good though, i'd consider using it. the only problem i see is how will you combat heavier things? Wild riders can do it, but unless they break through on that turn, you may find yourself in a fix. Tree-kin and a Treeman tend to have more survivability, if you want to fit them in.
Although, i have heard of a list that ran a lv4, 3 lv2s, all mounted. Required core choices were 3 units of 5 glade riders, and the rest were units of 4 or so warhawk riders. apparently he had a great deal of success with it, shooting everything, and higher toughness targets were forced into woods by endless treesinging, where they go bashed to death by the same spell and the deepwood sphere, which is great on a mounted singer, as 18inch movement can get you to the wood where the enemy stumbled in.
He described the board being like a mark of chaos, the terrain never stopped moving.
This will also be doubly effective as it will be a rogue list, i don't think many people will know how to combat such a different WE list.
Give it a whirl in a few games and tell us how it goes!
Finally got around to using this list against the new dark elves. Work wonders. Score a massacre by turn 5. My spell weaver did lose his eagle though.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
I think this list is something many players are going to have to start doing. Dark elves have some new stuff that can really mess up your day for casting offensive magic, plus the fact that our magic isn't the best for offense in the first place.
