Hey there! On saturday im going to play my first WE-battle and it is against VC.... Here is the list im thinking of right now:
-Hail of Doom Arrow
-Helm of the hunt
10x Glade Guard -120
8x Dryad -96
8x Dryad -96
8x Wardancer Troupe -151
6x Wild Riders of... -199
Any ideas of changes for a better matchup? Is the WR-unit to expensive? What should i think about? Do i have enought magic protection? Is it better with Branchwraith with radients?.... I need every inch of help i can get! When i stop playing warhammer last time (played empire) i had a curse on me against VC:...never beat them
but i hope saturday will be a change of this
You m ay have a difficult time contending with spell casting.
Remember, at 1000 Points Vamps can take level 3 upwards spell casters and still generate alot of extra dice.
My little brother did the math, and I think it's something like 200 points for a Lvl two vampire that generates an extra two powerdice.
I think your wild riders are fine, just remember their free musician.
I'd drop the treeman and take some more core and some more anti magic. maybe take a branchwratih with radience. extra DD and some good CC to boot. might want to figure out where you are going to leave your mage since he wil be your general. or drop the alter kindred from you noble and put him in with the wardancers.
Good luck and be sure to stop his plus PD spells to shut down his magic
I would agree with jayz, drop the treeman unless you know that your opponent isn't going magic heavy. You would be able to fit in a branchwraith, eagle, and another unit of dryads. Or just a wraith and another unit of wardancers. Either way, you would be able to weather the magic storm better.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
don't forget Wildridders and WarDancers have MR1 might save you in a pinch
A Lvl1 Branch Wraith with Radients and Netlings will be an effective general too.
Very hard to kill at 1000pts in a challenge.
And I would just hide your spell singer in your free woods, or another wood. Putting him in a Wardancer unit is just begging to get chomped. Particularly against Vampire Counts. (regenerating grave guard with killing blow. :/)
I would consider making the Alter not Alter. A regular guy can hide in a unit and still use the HoDA perfectly fine.
Although, I can see the appeal of five strength six attacks on the charge.
my thought was to hide the spellsinger in the GG
Herald of the Colonel; Festooned with pistols, riddled with vermin, and finger lickin' good...
I've seen 10 T3 models annihilated quite quickly.
You'll probably end up having to hide her against High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizard Men with Salamanders, Daemons with Flamers, and basically anything that can throw multiple shots.
