    2250 cav army (for friendly games)

    Ok so I finally had some free time and got most of my wood elves assembled over the holidays so that I can get back into fantasy and this is the list I was thinking of running.

    Lord + Hero = Orion = 575 points

    Hero = Noble = 156 points
    - light armor, great weapon
    - alter kindred
    - helm of the hunt
    - hail of doom arrows

    Special = 3 warhawk riders = 120 points

    Core * 4 = 6 wild riders = 156 (624) points
    - musician

    Core * 6 = 5 glade riders = 129 (774) points
    - musician

    Total = 2249 points

    Been awhile since I played and dont remember if special characters can be takin freely like in 40k or if you still have to ask each time, didnt see anything about it in my rule book so let me know if I can not take him please.

    General plan is to use the glade riders/hawk riders to shoot/charge enemy ranged and support units and if needed perform side/flank charges to aid the wild riders. The wild riders distract the enemy infanty blocks until the glade riders are in good positions and then charge in. I know this army will be very hit or miss as it relays so much on my movement.

    All comments welcome.

    I like it.

    I have always wanted to try a cav army, but in my other lists my wild riders have bounced alot due to my horrible rolls that I don't think I could use them as my only cc unit.

    But let me know how it works out .

    Interesting concept. I think I might drop a unit of glade riders for a great eagle, the points for a warbanner on a unit of wild riders and a few command on the wild riders also. You should probably get some dogs for Orion too.

    Of course the other glaring weakness is the lack of magic defense. You may want to drop a unit for a scroll caddy, or to continue the theme, a glamourweave spellsinger on a horse or unicorn.

    Have fun,

    I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.

    Yeah but I didn't want any casters in the army, so just gonna try to make due with the 4 dispel dice and the magic resistance of the wild riders. Might try to just use my move speed to keep the glade riders somewhat safe.

    Guessing then that the special character is not a problem? Couldn't find anything in the book saying that I still had to ask to use them like before.

    Will let you guys know how my first game goes in a few days.
