    2000 just starting

Hey I've been playing 40k for a while now, but I thought that I would get into fantasy. Anyways wood elves looks like a fun and effective army to use so I thought I would make a list. Keep in mind I haven't bought anything yet.

    Noble-140
    Wardancer kindred
    Blades of Loec
    General

    Spellsinger-175
    A befuddlement of mischief
    dispel scroll

    Spellsinger-150
    dispel scroll

    3x 11-man Gladeguard- 414
    musician

    6 glade riders-153
    musician

    12 Dryads-156
    branch nymph

    10 wardancers-201
    bladesinger
    musician

    8 waywatchers-192

    4 treekin-260

Anyways my strategy was to shoot as much as I can and anything that gets close I charge with my close combat units.

Looks like an interesting list, but you might want to take the champions out of the glade guard and treekin they really don't give that much benefit, and maybe add a musician to the glade riders.

Well I'm not sure what you mean by interesting, but ya I guess 6 points isn't worth the extra BS anyways I'm going to edit the list a bit.

Also this will probably sound like a newbish question, but what exactly do musicians do, I know they are good, I just don't have a rulebook handy and I forgot what they do.

Musicians can win you combat if you tie and the other unit doesn't have one, and it gives you +1 to your leadership when you try to rally.

So if you want to bait a unit into charging with your riders a musician will help your riders come back

You seem to be minimizing the points spent on characters. Not a bad way to go, but I would consider making your general a highborn so you could get him a ward save better than the basic wardancer 6+.

    3x 11-man Gladeguard- 414
    musician
Musicians are good, but generally you want to keep these guys at 10. Three units may be a little much also, depending on how terrain is worked out.

    6 glade riders-153
    musician
I like five in a unit, others like six. But if you need points this is one place to get them.

    12 Dryads-156
    branch nymph
No need for the nymph. Only ever use it if the unit will have a branchwraith in it. I usually use 8, others like 10, some use 12. Try out all the different numbers to see what suits your style.

    10 wardancers-201
    bladesinger
    musician
A few too many. I would not go over 8.

    8 waywatchers-192
One or two too many here as well. Six or seven seems to be the optimum number.
    4 treekin-260
I like these guys. 4 is the size I use as well.
You could probably fit a great eagle in this list without a problem. You also probably have enough points to split the dryads into 2 units of 8. Of course, another option is to pick up another noble, maybe the standard alter noble with hail of doom arrow and helm of the hunt.

Welcome to the forest and good luck,

I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
