Hi, been playin my wood elves for a little while now and loving the maneuverability of fast cav, i currently use 3 units (2GR and some WR) and mixed with the wood elf army rules there immense imo
so i was wondering if you its possible to make a list that stills packs the punch to take on enemy units (wood elf style *gang bangin*) and could also out manuvour just about everthing, i was thinking something like:
5 Glade Riders - 129 X5
Wild Riders - 191
WR - 166
as the core of the army, maybe not so many glade riders but i was wondering what kind or leaders would work well with this? and i wouldn't mind skirmishers either there still maneuverable (and i love war dancers!)
If I were running 1.5K fast cavalry minimum choices of Glade Riders, and then at least two units of Wild Riders, one with a character.
Reason being, their bows won't do much damage, and they are explody when shot or spelled at. They are very good at baiting, but I don't think you need that many baiters. I'd make the bulk of the army wild riders.
Defintely at least one Wild Rider Noble too. Dawnspear or Hail of Doom arrow would synergize nicely. The HoDA can soften a unit before you charge it, and if you end up having to circle a unit, you can make it pay without charging it. The dawnspear speaks for itself.
If I had the points, i might take both. But, I like symmetry.
think you're right about just taking minimum glade riders, there shooting isn't that great even if it's almost always gonna hit, i drew up a list and its looking more skirmisher inclined that i thought it would ^-^
2 Units of 5 Glade Riders with musicians
1 unit of wildriders, full command and war banner
1 unit of wildriders, full command
spellsinger lvl2, deepwood sphere, scroll
spellsinger lvl2, calingor's stave, scroll
2 units of 8 Dryads
I think you waywatchers unit is a little big. I would also drop one of the units of glade riders. One is usually enough as they are just too fragile.
With the points you have a few options. You could pick up another character. A standard alter noble would help immensly. Or maybe a wardancer noble. You could add a unit of glade guard for some nice shooting support.
I was wondering also how big your wild rider units are. If they are only five, I would get them up to 6 each.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
