I know the list is binky. The theory with it is that I will avoid LOS using what wood and other terrain features are available. In the worse case scenario with only one or two woods available, I'd not be able to screen a Dryad Swarm (which is how I'd have run this list in the past before I started experimenting with Treekin).
I plan on having my dryads Drycha deployment to arrive on flanks and to be certain I get first turn, which means only four of my units will start on the field.
The ultimate goal will be to deny the enemy targets and get them to over extend and get near my woods. (that and if I fight a gunline, I'm hoping I'll be able to turn them off). After that, I will try getting the enemy to enter the woods by causing an over run if they charge my Dryads, or by using the Horn of the Asrai. At that point, I'm counting on my deepwood sphere to do some damage, and singing to bring that unit down all the way.
My hope is that b/w hiding treemen strangle rooting I'll only have to leave the woods once in a battle, and then with the treekin complimented by a flank charge. That, or simply capture table quarters if I get a big enough block with my Deep Wood Sphere.
I'm going to test it later tonight. But, I wanted to know what the forum thought of my idea first.
(and yes, this is a variation of my TP Dawnspear Treekin list, which by the way, did very nicely against vampires! I lost, but it was a VERY close game.)
Nice list, though I would try to get in a dispel scroll or two. I like the sphere and the mischiefs, so I would drop the horn, and the staff for the second.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
Thank you! I'll try that and test it out! Tho.. being without my staff makes me nervous.
I pretty much agree with sirkently here, although I could see an argument for keeping the staff and dropping either the befuddlement or the sphere.
