Attempt at a well balanced 2250 pt army

    Hi All

Am getting back into Warhammer after a 20 year break and decided to start with a new army. Here's my attempt at a balanced army that should be able to fair well against most opponents (2250 points):

Highborn, Alter kindred, light armour, Bow of Loren, Arcane Bodkins, Glamourweave talisman
Spellsinger (General), lvl 2 upgrade, Calaingor's staff, Deepwood Sphere
Spellsinger, lvl 2 upgrade, Cluster of Radiants, Dispel scroll
Glade Guard x 10 with musician
Glade Guard x 10 with musician
Glade Guard x 10 with musician
    Dryads x 8 + Branch Nymph upgrade
    Dryads x 8 + Branch Nymph upgrade
    Dryads x 8 + Branch Nymph upgrade
Glade Riders x 5 with musician
Glade Riders x 5 with musician
Wildriders x 5 with standard bearer and Wild Hunter upgrade
Wardancers x 8 with musician and Bladesinger upgrade
Treekin x 3 with Treekin Elder upgrade
Waywatchers x 6 with Shadow Sentinel upgrade

I'd appreciate any thoughts on the above mentioned list

    Thanks!

The enchanted shield is a good option here as well.

Spellsinger (General), lvl 2 upgrade, Calaingor's staff, Deepwood Sphere
You can' t have two of the same type of item. As both your magic items are arcane items, you will have to drop one. Scrolls and power stones don't count. I would actually drop the level 2 upgrade as our magic isn't that great. Then change the staff for a scroll.

Spellsinger, lvl 2 upgrade, Cluster of Radiants, Dispel scroll
The cluster can only be taken by a branchwraith or treeman ancient. Again, I would drop the level 2 upgrage. Actually changing him to a branchwraith is standard, but then you would have to lose the scroll, as wraith can't take magic items, only spites.

Core is fine, though you only need a dryad champ for units that will have a branchwraith. Usually not worth the points otherwise.

Wildriders x 5 with standard bearer and Wild Hunter upgrade
Standard setup is a unit of 6 with a musician, standard bearer, and warbanner.

Wardancers x 8 with musician and Bladesinger upgrade
Command models aren't common, unless a character will be joining the unit.

Treekin x 3 with Treekin Elder upgrade
Treekin are not a common unit. They are more for a focused combat list, as they really need a general with higher leadership, and a BSB to help them stay in combat. I would drop them from this list.

Waywatchers x 6 with Shadow Sentinel upgrade
Again, the champ upgrade isn't really required.
You could free up a bunch of points here. I would add in an eagle and either another unit of wardancers or wild riders.

I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.

Thanks for the obvious points I missed! Sometimes one can't see the wood for the trees! Surprised about the Treekin, on paper they look good. Any thoughts on Warhawks?

I like warhawks. A unit of 3 is good for mage and warmachine hunting.

The problem with treekin is they don't do enough damage to overcome the static combat resolution of block units of troops. That is why they really need to be fielded in units of 4, with a general with higher leadership, and a BSB to save them from breaking in combat. It is a lot of points to not have some protection for. Besides the fact that as a non skirmishing unit, they are a bit unweildy.
