    2000 pts competitive

Trying to make a competitive army to play against some friends. They play Ogres, Beastmen, VC and Dwarfs.

    Heros

Highborn on a Forest Dragon 563
    - LA, Daiths Reaper, Amarthine Brooch, Enchanted Shield

    Spellsinger 140
    - Dispel Scroll, Deepwood Sphere

    Noble 156
    - LA, GW, Alter, HotH, HoDA

    Core

    10 Glade Guard 120

    10 Glade Guard 120

    10 Glade Guard 120

    8 Dryads 96

    8 Dryads 96

    Special

    6 Wardancers 108

    5 Wild Riders 191
    - Full command, War Banner

    Rare

    Treeman 285

    Total: 1995 points

I know the lord on a dragon is expensive, but he definitely wades through troops (with a 3+ AS and 3+ ward to boot) and I like the model

So I definitely found that 3DD is not enoughPlayed against OK and found myself wishing for more dispel dice, even with the dispel scrollShould I replace the deepwood sphere with Calingors Staff and somehow scrounge the points to make my spellsinger level 2?Kind of stuck on this....

Perhaps if I remove the champion and war banner from the wild riders, then i can upgrade the spellsinger to lvl2

Thought about making the noble into a spellsinger, seeing as he got demolished when he was on his own, but I think I will try one more time with him, this time sticking with the wardancers

Alright, so upgrading the spellsinger wont give you any extra dispell dice, it will just give you a power dice. If you are looking for more magic defense I would personally drop the alter noble and replace him with a spellsinger (level 1) and more dispell scrolls, or I guess a branchwraith with a cluster of radiants.

Also your alter noble isnt allowed to join any units.

good points, i may try the spellsinger for the noble

i meant to say that the noble would stick close to the wardancers to use them as a shield, not join their unit
