the noble and spell weavers to sit in the GG and shoot and do spells and the branch wraith to go in to the tree kin units wot do you think?
greetings fellow wood elf, just a few things for you to think about. first for a 3000 point game your army is far to small 5 units wont get you very far, haveing two spellweavers is pretty pointless to be honest seeing as power dice are now generated by 2 D6 at start of game i cant see both these guys getting much use together so i would take one or the other, also your branchwraithes should be accompanied by dryads i can not see a use for them on there own i would keep the first wraith for the cluster at least but drop the other one, bsb is good, the glade guards i would split into 2 units of 10 and 1 unit of 20 or 1 unit of 30 and 1 of 10 i would lose the glade riders for dryads, if you want fast cav take wild riders, remember wood elves like in 7th edition should always look to outnumber there enemy that hasnt changed in 8th its still a strength for us i would suggest you take a look at other army postings and see what advice has been given to get an idea of the machanics
ok the brachwraith with terror i can see is a little pointless so ill drop it and good advice on the bsb ill change that around.
but the 40 GG can volley fire so thats 30 shots ok so 10 are wasted but it will help when they get charged? or do u think its still to pricey for wot it does?
The glade riders where just to make up points for core so i can switch them out for dryads.
the two spell weavers would give me fexabilty either dishing out pain with beast or healing my units with life depending on the situation.
and the tree kin are going to be very hard to stop thats 24 str 5 attacks then 4 str 5 at the end there going to be able to break most units
first off i tried the 40 gg myself and there are a few reasons why the 40 gg isnt a good idea, 1 it eats up a lot of points into 1 unit that could be split into 3, 2 if it gets charged and finds itself locked in combat you have no shooting phase and if its fighting another combat horde its doomed, 3 manovering, the list goes on.
as for the 2 mages i understand your reasoning for them but what if you find yourself for one turn consentrating solely on the life caster, thats xxx amount of points on a beast caster doing nothing for a whole turn or vice versa, but its up to you try it have fun with it but in my opinion its a waist of points that could be used on another unit wich in my opinion this list needs as its to small for 3000 points i would get some wild riders and maybe an eagle if you lose the terror branchy and a second lvl 4 you can get these things giving you something to take out warmachines etc
as for the 8 treekin these are awsome cant go wrong with them i think serkently wasnt aiming the cost at the points value but at the cost of the models themselves from games workshop but then you could convert your own
