So I'm considering reviving my old Wood Elves just for fun as they where my first army and I do like the models. So I dug through my stuff and found the last list I made for the Wood Elves and I know it probably isent very good, Since I wasent very good at playing back then. But how can I improve this list?
Helm of the Hunt
Hail of Doom Arrow
Additional Hand Weapon
10 Glade Guard
Dont know if this list is even legal, I just wrote off exactly what my notes said. Made it when we where all still pretty new at Warhammer arround the end of 7'th edition or the beginning of 8'th edition..
Unfortunately your list is not legal, your list should be laid out like this.
Max 25% lords
Max 25% nobles
MINIMUM 25% core
Max 50% special
Max 25% rare
best to build your army around your core units, GG and dryads. Get these to the required pont lvl then worry about the wrest.
I know all that, Like I said this is not a list I made recently, I made this list in 7'th edition and I said I dident know if it was legal, I dident check what was on it, I just wrote it straight off the paper. I know how many procent you are allowed to have from the diferent unit types and only one arcane item. It is an old old list. This is not an army list I made recently and not something I want to play, I put it up to ask how to make a better list then this and how to make it good, Not to ask if it was good as I know it is not good
It was not my intention to upset you. Instead of showing your old list, it would have been better to list the models you have available. Are the models you have the same as your list?
If it is the same, then here is a suggested start for a new list.
Spellweaver lvl 4, general
Wand of Wyche Elm
Armor of Destiny
Hail of Doom Arrow
8 x Dryads
10 x Glade Guard
Banner of the Eternal Flame
Aech-The Banner of Springtide
Add Tree Kin and additional Glade Guard when you are able.
I have basicaly what I posted, But upon revivin the wood elves I will get more models aswell, To try and build up to 2250 points as thats what we play at theese days. And sorry if I seemd upset, I just tried to explain what I meant and I'm horribly bad at explaning things.. XD
Anyways, What I have so far is
8 Glade Riders
24 Glade Guard
Not much so far and it needs alot of extras. I know Treekin are god but they are just so expensive..
I'm horribly bad at explaining things as well.
The following is a suggested 1500 point list for the models that you have.
Spellweaver level 4, general
Wand of the Wyche Elm
Resplendence of Luminescence spite
Hail of Doom arrow
Cluster of Radiants
14 x GG
Aech Banner of Springtide
10 x GG
8 x Dryad
6 x Wardancer
5 x Wardancer
1 x Treeman
Total = 1486
Looks like a good start on an army^^ With Asyend's bow do you mean Asyendi's Bane? Dosent seem like it would be that useful since with 6 BS even if fiering at long range you will hit on a 2+.. And the hurting yourself if you miss the reroll dosent seem very nice even if it is unlikely. But then again he'd need a magic bow since he looses his longbow.. I think Bow or Loren seems nice, But he cant afford it with Hail of Doom Arrow.. And I do realy like HoDA.. I remember back before I quit the wood elves I once took out a entire group of VC wolves with it.. Was quite fun! XD
It's on the BSB who looses his bow, ergo he needs a magical one to use the Hail of Doom Arrow. Frankly, I think our T3/2W BSBs are far too squishy to warrant giving magical anything but armor. Give them the Heavy armor with 4+ Ward (Adamantine?) or the Silvered Armor if you use a Ryhmer's Harp (I do, it's fantastic) because otherwise, they'll get picked off in CC.
As for the rest of the list, War Dancers are good for character hunting, but really aren't as good as they were in 7th because they'll eat to many attacks in return and/or loose to CR. There's really nothing in the list that they can hit a flank with Either. One big horde of anything really will run you through. I would advise taking some Treekin to give you an anvil of sorts because the Treeman can only take so much.
Also, I'm not sure why you want the Luminescents and the Banner of Springtide. All together it's a little pricey for something that you might not ever get to use. If something's that close to you before they charge, then something has gone wrong, or that's how I look at it at least. Especially on a unit that will only get a few shots anyway. If it was a unit of 25+, then I'd consider it, but even then it's still dicey. Hell, I'd rather buff the unit with a beastweaver and try for a multi-charge to catch them off guard. For 1/5 the price of the Lumi's and Spring combined, you can get the Banner of Eternal Flames and give the unit Magical Flaming Arrows.
40k: Silver Angels of Our Martyred Lady 7/2/3 - Daemons of the Great Squiggle! 3/1/0
Fantasy: Windhost of Athel'Loren 2/0/0 - Daemons of Another Great Squiggle! 0/0/0
Warmahordes: Legion of Everblight (Absylonia)
Yes, I meant the Asyendi's Bane. It is the cheapest magical bow available. It and the HoDA's total cost does not exceed 50 points. This way we can use a noble instead of having to use a lord character.
Fortunately, the bow's ability is deactivated when the HoDA is used.
