2000 point friendly wood elf list

This is my first time playing fantasy in over a decade. I'll be playing against a friend who will be fielding mage-heavy dark elves. I'm not sure if I should drop a unit of GG to pick up an Alter noble w/ great weapon or BoL. Please provide general comments and address the previous question. Thanks!

    8 Wardancers w/ Bladesinger - 158

That probably means you missed 7th edition. That is what happened with me.

No, do not drop a GG unit for an Alter noble w/great weapon. There is no rush for your noble to die; it will do that soon enough. With 8th ed rules, the charging unit no longer gets first strike in combat as it did in the 6th ed and 7th ed rules. Nor drop one for a noble with the Bow of Loren. Even with the bow, a noble cannot shoot as many arrows as a unit of GG.

A mage can no longer carry two arcane items.

Thanks for the feedback! Recommendation on what to do with the points made available by dropping the dispell scroll?

I suggest swapping out Railarian's Mantle for Armor of Destiny.

upgrade one of your GG models to a standard bearer and give it the Banner of Eternal Flame.

Only if you are using the champion to protect your Spellweaver or Noble from challenges, otherwise, no.

I would also suggest a Talisman of Preservation on your Weaver. Wand+Talisman = 100 points on the dot like it was meant to be. Would be worth dropping a few dryads for it.
