Your highborn is tooled up for two too many purposes. The Bow of Loren and Arcane Bodkins are a fantastic archer combination, but do you expect him to need the brooch?Originally Posted by The Green Knight
Spellsingers have some cool items availabe. I'd drop one dispel scroll and something else for some variety.
The Wardancer Noble should kick butt. Give the annoyance of netlings (maybe by dropping that dispel scroll earlier) and have him challenge each time. That'll tick off your opponent.
Otherwise I like the list. Good variety that takes advantage of many different units and has some combat power to boot.
I would not take the Treeman. You'd be sacrificing two units for one and lose some versatility there. A treeman would be fun, but it'd be at a loss, I think.
Cool list. I might run a version of it once I get the models.

The brooch is there to keep him alive from random warmachine fire and such. He is the only thing in the army that really has potential at taking out heavily armoured units. Unless the waywatchers get lucky on the killing blow.
The arcane items are cool I won't argue that and originally I had him with one. However, forest spirits and my lord get eaten by magic. There is no armour to prevent most of my troops from biting the big one from magic either. Plus he is only a level one and I don't want to squeeze the points out to make him a level 2. I'll probably put together a magic list after I get a chance to play test and play this list a little bit.
Waywatcher nobles seem in no way worth it. If you can't even use the bow of loren, you are basically paying 5 or 6 times the cost for a waywatcher with 1 higher BS. Sounds like a bad deal with me. Drop the booch for the highborn.
I kind of wanted the Waywatcher Noble just for the muster of malevolents, I see the way watchers as a great way of taking out their warmachines or picking off other archers and stopping march moves. The noble also gives them a little something extra if they charge a warmachine. But I think you may be right about it not being worth it.
Why do people not like the Brooch?
My waywatchers spent six rounds firing at warmachines during a game against dwarfs last week. What did I get out of it? Zilch. Randomising shots just makes it too difficult.
The brooch is a nice item, but it'll only matter if he's in combat. As for avoiding missile fire, the troops around him will take the hits.
Ok, I've made some changes to the list. Check above and re-critique please. I have 96 points remaining and not really sure what I want to do with it. I was thinking of another treekin. But I have a feeling that they are going to come in boxes of three and I don't want to buy a second box for just one treekin. I kind of want to try a great eagle, however I don't think they are that great. What are your thoughts?
I've just started playing WE too. Some personal suggestions:
Drop the Tree-Kin and Warhawk Riders.
I'd say in their place buy some Wild Riders and/or Eternal Guard. Preferably both (if you have enough points), but if not buy 1 of them....most likely EG cuz you have a lot of shootiness, but lacking in the combat department....as is you have 25 units that are CC directed w/ like th GR a good support CC. IMHO I think you need a little more CC.
On that same idea, if you don't get WR, but get EG and have some points left around, get another unit of Dryads or Wardancers, just so you have more CC flexibility b/c the enemy is going to get into combat w/ you eventually and having enough units to deal with it (whether directly or from flanks) is always a wise idea.
As for scouts, I'm not a big fan cuz of the lack of an Elven Bow, but if you want them, keep them and lemme know how they did.
Like I said, I'm new to the WE too so I may not have the best advice, just some personal preferences/ideas I think may work.
I think 4 caracters might be overboard rough 600 pts worth of them is too much IMO, you won't miss the way watcher kindred really.
I'd drop the waywatchers as you already have scouts, together they make too many points invested in scouting units.
I don't know if 8 glade riders would be flexible enough,I would go for 2 units of 5 if you have the points hidden somewhere.
