Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have used this same list in my last 5 Battles. 3 Wins against lizzards, beasts and dwarfs, 1 Draw against a dwarf and high elve force and a Loss against highelves (LOTS OF MAGIC).
Basically I just want to see if you think my list is balanced or what may improve it.
I take units of 12 dryads as i find they are good with a little more punch and can actually win combats rather than just be a screen for my other units. Also i find 2 units of GG keep characters in units or thin out annoying things that try to flank me. 8 wilder riders with noble attached almost always assures an outnumber bonus to me, which when i cause fear is wonderful. Use lots of tree singing up to 6 times per turn, and a few support spells, usually ariels blessing or call of hunt.
One item im not sure about is the spear which makes opponents strike back at -1 to hit if i wound them. I miss way to much with him.....
Wood Elves 2000pts
Spell Weaver (AthelLoren Lore)
Wand of Wych Elm 270
Helm of the Hunt
Hail of Doom
Light Armor 158
Spear of twilight
Elven Steed 157
Spellsinger (AthelLoren Lore)
Dispell Scroll 180
Full command 244
Tree Man 285
Edit - total was wrong
It's a nice list. I've tried that spear too, and with mixed results.
So how do you like the big WR unit? That's a lot bigger than most WR units people use. I've got six of the buggers to paint up, and a noble.
I think squeezing in an eagle would be good for your list.
Also 8 Riders means I can afford to lose 2-3 models and still be a potent force in the battle.
I find riders are best when they fly down one side of the board staying out of LOS of most of the guns.
I think i would take an eagle in a 2250 list, but if i took one now what should i drop from this list to take it?
Well, that's hard to say. I don't consider a wardancer champ essential, though I'll take one if I have the points. They generate so many attacks already, and I rarely charge them into the front of units where a challenge might come into play.
But that would only get you part of the way there. You'd have to drop some dryads, and I hate to do that. Then again, I use units of 8 dryads and find they do plenty, but I'm guessing you use them in larger numbers along with the wild riders for some fear autobreaking.
In other words, I don't know. If the list's working, don't bother. If the ranged unit would help, then try it out for a game or two, I guess.
