Welcome to Librarium Online!
Alright, so this is a 2250 list in a style that Im really not used to playing. Tell me what yall think.
Highborn + Rhymers Harp, Annoyance of Netlings, Great Weapon
Noble + BSB, Oaken Armor
Spellsinger + 2 Dispel Scrolls
10 Glade Guard
10 Glade Guard
6 Glade Riders
6 Glade Riders
5 Scouts + Banner of the Zenith
18 Eternal Guard + FC, Warhammer
4 Warhawk Riders
So, the BSB and the Highborn are goin in with the EG. Everything else is gonna run around and do various other tasks. I never run lists like this, so Id like to hear what everyone thinks. I know I dont have too much magic defense, but I still think it will do alright.
FC? Warhammer?? Whats FC and why repeat Warhammer??? I think we know its Warhammer Fantasy, unless your talking about something else?18 Eternal Guard + FC, Warhammer
Legion Of Everblight: Abyslonia
Protectorate of Menoth: Grand Exemplar Kreoss
If you drop a rider from each glade rider unit and add musicians to them you should be able to get 2 squads of 5 wardancers and 2 squads of 5 waywatchers.
I have always been dubious of Oaken armour on 2 wound models but can't really fault it.
Your right about magic defence, 3 dispel dice and 2 dispel scrolls aren't much but you have a very manouverable army so you might be able to get away with it against most opponents. However, a magic heavy army will eat you for breakfast.
If you have strict comp rules then there is not much we can do for you without knowing what they are.
The two problems with this list are
1. magic defence - discussed already. The inclusion of a Level 1 Branchwraith would help.
2. Fighting tough stuff. You really don't have any heavy hitters to fight monsters etc. This may not be a problem if your special comp rules prohibit monsters.
As a standard, take on all comers list, it is too fragile but may work for whatever you guys are doing.
I think it's a list that can win a lot of games. The one change I'd make if it were my own would be to drop one unit of glade riders for 10 more archers. Eternal Guard can be really good, but 10 more archers to soften up the enemy, which often has more ranked units than WE's, can do a lot.
And I'd give that one unit of glade riders a musician. I've failed too many rally tests on ld 8, and now I always take a mus on GG and GRs.
I played this list today against dwarves and chaos mortals.
As a whole, the list did really well. Everything basically did its job, but of course I lost out to the dwarf shooting and huge amounts of combat res. I would have pulled out a win if a lone hammerer hadnt passed his break test... grrr....
Almost my entire army got ripped apart by his various combat units. The only thing that perserved me a draw was my eternal guard breaking and running down a marauder unit where the Chaos Lord and Chaos BSB were. My highborn took the lord in a challenge also, btw.
Anyway, Im very very happy with how the list went against two pretty tough opponents. The eternal guard unit is definitely my MVP. Record 0/0/2.
