I've Noticed that most people on LO don't use more than 6 of these bad boys. Why would it be so bad to have a unit of 10? I would expect a lot more auto -breaking which is something I like the sound of. Has anyone tried using a unit of 10? If so how did it go?
As for outnumbering, it would be nice, but it ends up costing a lot of points. Plus all those extra models dont get to attack. If you throw Wild Riders in the flank of a unit, they should be able to break it without having to outnumber.
Also, anymore than 6 and the unit becomes difficult to move around the board. They get difficult to hide and their flanks become vulnerable to things like Bolt Throwers, which, when hitting a unit of fast cav, is bad news.

BigPappa hit it alright. With a bigger unit like that, many of your guys can't attack . Only good thing really would be that you would be able to take a few wounds before it hurting you too bad.
Note of Wild Riders. Never, and I mean never, let these guys get charged if you can help it. I just played a game 2 days ago and I set up my fast flank so that I would be able to charge 2 different units with WR, Warhawks, and an alter. Well he charges my WR with nugglings, I think no big deal because they only have to hold one turn before I throw in the other two units etc...well 2-3 of my WR die and then they flee and are caught and die. There goes my flank power.
Speaking cynically, a unit of ten also costs a bomb that would otherwise be spent elsewhere. Not only that, they're expensive in terms of money and only come in boxes of five anyway.

B/c it would cost twice as much. Why would it be so bad to have a unit of 10?
you know, there are wild rider blister packs for $10 a piece.
Ten in one unit is too much. Although it can be fun to have the "autobreak" due to fear, this can be done using dryads who are half the points.
@Trodi: I bought the mounted Highborn to use as a Wildrider Noble but never found them that impressive. I now use him as the 6th member of my Wildriders (he's the unit champion now). Like you I found that to get him in I had to drop other stuff that I liked. It's not easy being green.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
"this can be done using dryads who are half the points."
how do u have your dryads outnumber a block of infantry?
