Welcome to Librarium Online!
I play an all tree spirit Army, All Tree army in fact, as i converted my unit of wild riders to look like dryad centigor things:
I modelled the musician to carry a weird dangly thing made of the bones on the dryad sprue, but over time most have fallen off (the green one is holding the last one). I was thinking of just playing without a muso, but thats heresy for a fast cav unit! espiacially as their combats often hang by 1 or 2 combat res.
So i have decided to make a new one, but I don't know what 'instrument' i should use. Does anyone have any ideas that would follow the fluff and also be doable? (either a instrument already modelled or an easy conversion - i can't GS well)
Do u still have any bits from the horses, or their riders left, because you could probably use some of them for a nice conversion.
Perhaps one of the horses heads as the horn.

Yeah, skipping the Musician in Wild Riders wouldn't serve you very well even if it was an option. Since Wild Riders don't have the option to forgo the musician, I'd recommend using the Glade Guard musician bits if you have some extra. Even if you don't, you can order them online for a buck each (here).
I think that horn would look good on those Wild Riders, and involves just a little chopping and gluing to pull off.
Nice job on those, by the way.
Interesting converstions. I would suggest the Glade Guard musician bit or the Glade Rider musician bit if you have either. Your theme looks 'boney' so maybe there is a piece from TK or VC that would go nicely, if anybody in your gaming group plays either of those. They would probably be able to help you out! :C

you can forgo the musician, you would just be silly to do so (it's free) and it makes you cause fear for an entire turn you charged.
I would just get the skull head bit from the dryads and put it at the feet of one of the wild riders. Then say - that's my musician. You don't have to actually have the musician modelled, if you can delineate between them, that's good enough for me. Actually, there are several people I play with who proxy models, and their list is the only place they've delineated that there is any type of command.
Yep, that "must" is fairly conclusive.
On a side note, the musical instrument doesn't have to be weilded by the rider. A horn strapped (read "glued") to the Widrider will be more than enough.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
i already have some of the Glade horns (i started WE with a battalion box) but they just don't seem quite right. the elf arms are part of the horn piece, and i don't want to put an elf arm on a dryad... likewise, i didn't really want to just slap something onto the side of the body just as an identifier. thanks for the help tho
I'm thinking maybe some bells / jangly things that make noise with movement, or maybe something like Kislev Winged Lancers, but i don'y really have anything specific thats based on exstng parts.
Pipes of Pan? i don't gettit... Do you mean panpipes? i think you do.
On Topic, I tried giving a dryad an elf horn but it looks really stupid, so i won't be doing it to a dryagor as I have dubbed them.
