I already have a Wood Elves army, for you that don't know. What I am looking to do is start another one. I would like to see what fellow Wood Elves player play and why. Thank you in advance if you help me.
Think you misread, or just plain didnt read, the original post there Dave...
What else do you guys play, thats my original post in a nut shell.
I thought you meant you were going to build another WE list, which did strike me as sort of odd, but now I understand.
I play Ogres, which I'm selling because they suck and I could use the money.
And I'm restarting VC because they are beyond awesome.
And I have a Dwarf army that I break out on occasion to play something different.
Well, let's see...
I have a regiment of Bretonian Knights lingering around (from the 4th edition box). If I started a second army (which is very unlikely) I would collect Bretonians as I could combine their heavy cavalry perfectly with my Wood Elves in large battles.
In January I started playing 40K and got myself an Orkz and Blood Angels army. Why? because they were cheap on Ebay. I thought about what's better: to collect an army I really like or an army I can cheaply get. Well, the money argument won so I bought the Orkz and to my surprise I liked them. I was laughing tears when I read the new Codex and got immediately hooked. I got really into collecting Orkz, but kept resisting buying a Space Marine army whenever I saw one on Ebay until I saw a Blood Angel deal that was simply too good to resist. Now I am an avid Blood Angel collector, though I inititally thought that Black Templars are more my like. Within a couple months I have racked up each 3000 points worth of Orkz and Marines. When I sleep at night I assume there are huge Whaaghs roaming our household.
A long story made short:
- It doesn't matter what army you collect, they are all cool.
- The "cheap" argument is only for your own comfort of mind, but doesn't really apply.

Thanks for the replies so far. I was leaning towards VC but I want to hear more about why people pick what army.
I have Empire and Chaos as my other two armies.
The Empire gives me a little of everything and Chaos was my first WHFB army. I think Empire is a good army because it does give you that exposure to pretty much everything in the game.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
I have an Empire force which is quite formidable in it's own right (but I should really beef up my State Troops, but that's besides the point). Empire I gotbecause they were cheap with the last Starter Set.
I'm also working on a Beasties army (why? Well, why not?) and I sold my Dwarfs because I was winning with them too easily (intriguingly enugh, the guy I sold them to goes to my local club). I got them for the same reason as above.
You said elsewhere that you have yet to face Ogres and Skaven. Why not give one of them a go?
I have empire and tomb kings. Empire was the first army i started on, still one of my favorites, the versatility is great. And tomb kings i thought would be fun, which they were for a little bit, but a hard army to use.
