In my many games against orks I've always found that chariots can do a lot of damage to my frail, yet expansive, units. I've even seen a beastman armylist with 4 chariots! ouch!
I didn't play TK yet, I don't want to see what chariot units can do...
Grosso modo : I still have trouble to deal with them.
What do you do to get rid of chariots?
Dryads are good chariot fodder. Ive had 12 charged by 4 TK chariots and kill 3 of them on the first round of combat, not bad for dryads. Their T4 makes them more surviveable against those impact hits.
Otherwise, id probably say either trying to avoid them, or massed shooting.
They aren't that bad if you get the charge. Either bait them into a favourable position or sacrifice a unit, dryads are good for this to put them in the position to be charged. Once in combat, either with wardancers or wild riders preferably, you should be able to beat them. Alters are also good for taking them out. They don't start with a large CR usually, so you should be able to go toe to toe.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
You can also just stick your units very close to your woods. If a chariot charges, elect to flee. If it even touches the wood, it's going to have to take d6 s6 hits. Using the one of the basic strengths of elves would probably be better than relying on a unit that might not be able to perform thier task.
These are the units I sent my Alter Noble after.
I hail of doom arrow one of them and charge another and use the 18" movement to get in amongst them. Wood Elves struggle against massed chariots due to the lack of strength 7 attacks but even massed glade guard firepower will drop them.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
Treemen, treekin, and alter with great weapon. Also enough str 4 shooting will do them in.
Otherwise, I run interference with flyers or glade riders.
Frenzied ones, I try to lead into terrain, especially impassable.
Don't let them get the charge,it's as simple as that.I had that problem in the first couple of games against a friend that likes chariots(most everything was a chariot).I just brought and highly mobile army(even for WE)and with all the fast units i had he could not keep up.But that is just me
