I was having a very hard time dealing with my opponents steam tank until today when i saw that all difficult terrain counts as impassable.
if i treesing a forest into the tank does it die instantly?
so not only does it not kill the tank, i can even do it to slow it down?
in that case what would you recommend to kill a steam tank? we play 1000pts so lords are out of the question.
Stanks are psychological. The more you focus on them, the more powerful they become.
I'd say ignore it mostly. It's 1/3 of his force, so if you can kill the rest, that's 2/3 of his force dead.
If you want to render it useless, deal a couple of wounds to it. The more damage you deal it, the more likely you are to get the thing to destroy itself.
Of course, don't rule out the idea of a DoW Cannon...
Treeman is all I can think of, if you really want to kill it. Shouldn't take too long, since you auto hit it once in combat.
In the end, I think you'll struggle, and AFG's advise to just avoid it may be best. If anyone can pull those kind of tactics off, it should be Woodelves.
omg it only has toughness 6... he told me it was 10! I was under the impression u needed a strength 7 just to wound it on a 6. I really need to stop taking his word for things and double check everything he tells me...
Thanks it shouldn't be nearly as hard now that that has been cleared up, thanks.
It does have 10 wounds though.
Yeah, but cause a few wounds and it has to be alot more conservative with its steam points. If it was 10 Toughness and 10 Wounds like he said, it would be all but invincible
Or you could try to lock him in combat with like dryads ; make him pursue off the table ; make it run around the table... stay away from him.
Like Ralarian said, flank it with dryads, it will be unable to win combat so it can't grind therefore it will be pinned until your opponent dedicates another unit to it. I think the treeman has much better things to do against Empire such as fank, terror, strangle. Its not T10 but it is T6 with a 1+, a treeman does 1.25 wounds a turn to it. Unless you can hit it on turn 2 in the flank, isolated from the enemy you have pinned an expensive unit with an equally expensive one, or you could just use dryads, or scouts.
