I usually take the Lore of Athel Loren
I usually take the Lore of Beasts
I usually take the Lore of Life
I never use a spellweaver
When you take a spellweaver, which lore do you usually take?
Of course you will change lore as you change opponent, you can even change lore in a tournament right (not certain, pls confirm). But which is the most common in your army?
Can't vote as I am usually split evenly between life and beasts depending on the force I am facing. I never use Lore of Athel Loren though on a spellweaver.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
What are you using this wizard for, defense, attacking, or support? What else is usually in your army (fast Calvary, lots of shooting)? I’d choose a lore based on these questions.
That said, I should probably let you know that I’ve never used a Spellweaver before.
Personally I favour Lore of Athel Loren, its got some very useful spells, 2 possible damage spells, 1 to make you immune to mundane shooting, 1 to make a unit cause fear/terror, 1 that give regen and 1 that can move a unit 2d6 or if in combat give them extra attacks (I love seeing my WD's get 4 attacks each on the charge).
Lore of beast runs second for me, ive never used it but I have seen it used very effectively.
I'd rather use a Highborn/TMA than a Spellweaver. Hands down.
Hence why I voted that I never take it.
So while I do always take my lvl 2, I do not very often take spellweavers but when I do take one its always Lore of Beasts.
Lore of beasts is awesome, Lots of the same spells as Athel Loren only lower casting levels.
Other changes but the one to take if you like dictating the speed of the battle.
Its got to be Beasts, beasts cowers is quickly becoming the best spell in the game. Although hunt can only be cast on cavalry, it has better range and does not force you to throw 4 dice at it. Anger is a sweet default spell and the spear is a nice double threat against cav.
2009 Tourny records (W-L-D) (20-4-4):
9/56, 1/12, 2/14, 4/14, 32/82, 1/6, 16/72
I think the restrictions on Lores makes it very hard to play a heavy magic wood elf army. That said, when I take a Spellweaver I usually go between Life and Beasts depending on opponent. Although the Athel Loren spells are good they tend to be covered by the Spellsingers and Branchwraiths.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
I realy dont like wood elf magic in this book i would want to pick fromm all lores in rule book and have +1 to cast on beasts and life!
