Hello i know that 2 treeman was soposed to be cheasy but with the new armies of 7th edition is it realy that bad i personaly love the treeman fluff and is the main reason i started Wood Elves i realy like the idea of running a treeman general and a second treeman rare unit but what is your take on it i wanna know if i should take that or will peaple just look at me like i am a power gamer i dont think it is as bad as a deamon army considering at least were i am ALOT of peaple play them at tournies so please post ty
Bring as many treemen as you want, I will just counter with Lore of fire and as many other flaming attacks as I can get.
ok just sayin i have 5 dispel dice and 4 scrols in my 2250 list
Two Treemen is cheese.
What's cheesier is a TMA with Netlings and a Treeman.
Why? Because those things are just horrible for their points. They shoot, they do magic, they kill things in combat, they survive, they can deny ranks, they can claim table quarters.
Even flaming things will have a hard time cracking it's 3+ and 5++ saves (unless you're a Dwarf Cannon with the RoBurning), assuming they're managed to top it's T6- even then they have 6 wounds.
Are 2 treemen cheesy in friendly games? Yes
Are 2 treemen cheesy in normal competitive games? Yes
Are 2 treemen cheesy against OTT VC and DoC lists? answer is hazy...
In the end, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. You payed for your models. You aren't breaking any rules. You are using valid units.
If you play against people that don't mind facing two treemen (maybe because they play OTT lists themselves?), then go for it if you want to.

"I am the architect of fate!"
Yeah. Generally, the people who complain the loudest about powergamers are in fact bigger powergamers themselves.
Its even cheesier when you add a BSB in there aswell....
I do have a BSB in my list lol
You Can't Put The Cat Back In the Bag
I think you'll find the Ancient with Netlings and the Treeman with BSB combo's get under the radar with VC/DoC/DE books out now. 2 Treemen would still attract some attention however.
I use a Ancient with Netlings and a HoDA BSB in my tourny list atm, and I havent had a problem with composition scores.
I've wondered about this, too, and I'm not sure that I feel it's over the top. You certainly lose access to a lot of other units spending so many points on treemen.
And in Texas, there's something like 5 Indy GT's within a day's drive and people really work the circuit here. Many of them play tough lists.
7th ed lends itself to hard lists, and two treemen are about as 'hard' as you get.
Personally I think there are better options. I'll take one treeman instead of two and have a lot of points left to buy multiple units that can do more for me over the course of a game.
