Welcome to Librarium Online!
After reading on games-workshop site on how to beat woodelves it seems that moust armies in warkammer can affort to simply stand and move up slowly to negate almoust all advantages of the woodelf player
no high mortality from missles due to high T
no tree singing due to mages
no Imba treespirits due to mages
so how would you as wood elf player react to a player that just wait for you to come to him whilst keeping his battle line firmly.
and yeah I'm asking this because I might join you in the battle to perserve the forest
The only armies that can do that are either magic-heavy or gunlines.
Gunlines are easy. They'll get one or two turns to shoot before my unleashed alters, GRs etc hit them. Warmachine crews don't last long in combat. A bit of steroids, and clever use of forests will do you well here.
Magic-heavy armies would be a bit more difficult. Our units are small, fragile, and expensive. Again, a few well-planned assassinations work beautifully here. The Branch Nymph directing all attacks on the Wizard etc. Lots of easy VPs there.
Usually armies that can outrange WEs will have compromised their combat abilities quite seriously.
so effectifly the weakness's of those list are as great as their strenghts?! ok well i need to get myself an army book and figure out what I wanna do.
Treespirit armies look very cool but hard to play and since it would be my first WHFB army I migt have to go for a saver option first. But those dryads and some tree singing seems awesome
Forest spirits are fun to play with due to their awesome stats! However you will most commonly need heavy magic to support them ; a domain in which Wood Elves don't stand out as much as their cousins!
Fully forest spirits armies are not very popular though as you lose all your range advantages of your glade guards. Wild Riders are always on my lists : treeman and treekins has proven their potential on the battlefield. Where you gonna cry is combat resolution as you have no musician (it makes a huge difference! experience speaks!) no rank bonus no banners...
NOTHING! Your hope lies in outnumber/fear combo : a combo difficult to obtain when your units are so expansive!
A mix of asrai and FS is of course the best deal!
heheh yo dude yeah might start myself a nice wood elf army. They seem pretty hard to play but I never stopped at a challange.
and Railarian I know a pure treekin army isn't great it's fluffy and fun but not really competitive. It's a bit like a mono god daemon army it's fun but doesn't really work that great. but I will have some scouts glade gaurds and others because Whats more fun then jumping an eagle behind a bret knight battalion and see them march blocked for the next turn More time to shoot the crap out of ehm and when the venture to close to the pretty trees they will findout that wood can beat steel !!!!
Yeah, well they're DoC. A trained monkey can build a decent list with them.
Use your mobility and flood one side of his flank works like a charm especially when their artillery isnt on hills. I find I'm able to completely elminate some of his warmachines from being able to fire and im able to get some of theose precious flank and rear charges I'll post some pics of a battle im in later.
hahaha np zema I'm a compleet warhammer Noob so I probably don't understaind moust of it
and thanks for the advice Jeremiah L.
