Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi I was just thinking, since there are so many experienceed we players out here in the forum, then why not put our heads together and create the ultimate (all-comers/tourney) we-list?
I would simply like everyone to post, not finished lists, but rather points of view on what you guys think is the esential, and a must in the perfect list.
And hopefully with enought well agumented posts we have created perfect list,
We did a similar thing over in the TK forums a while back, and it works pretty well
Tbh, if youre looking for the best Tourney list, thats not too hard. Dual Treemen + BSB is pretty much the tourney cheese standard lol.
However, if you to come up with the best list for a balanced semi-competitive game, then this should be a lot of fun You should get to see how everyones thoughts can be combined into a well rounded list.
How many points is this "amazing list"?
And you know what we should do, we should go post in every fanasty fourm "how to beat the double treeman/BSB list" and than we see what they say and than we counter a list for all the armies that will dominate all there list.
Well I think the Ultimate List should be balanced and therefore be able to compete in all phases and still sneak under the comp radar at first glance. The best I've seen do this is Corey Reynolds (x2rock's list). I prefer an ancient over regular, a BSB is necessary, Eternal guard to have another anvil, an eagle because they rock. Add the standard 20 GG and 3 units of dryads and wr +warbanner and dancers and maybe some glade riders. Then you have spare points for magic d and some other filler. I think 2 L2s is sweet for comp and has the potential to be effective. So 6 PD, a stone or 2, and 2 bounds, 5 dd and probably 2 scrolls, 2 very solid anvils with lots of killy goodness, pretty effective bowfire and a few directors and the usual hard hitting skirmishers. Feel free to disagree/ add your opinions.
2009 Tourny records (W-L-D) (20-4-4):
9/56, 1/12, 2/14, 4/14, 32/82, 1/6, 16/72
I don't think there is an "ultimate" wood elf list. Every list made is susceptible to something else. And how I play is probably different than how you do, and how the next guy does. So you need a list that plays to your strengths as well as the armies strengths.
Personally, I don't like eternal guard. I think they are weak in a list that I am playing. But that is probably more my play style than the unit itself. Just look at all the tournament lists in the army list section. That to me points out that most have there preferred style and while you can tweak a persons list to maximize its potential, a completely different list is also totally viable.
That is my thought.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
