Welcome to Librarium Online!
Played LotR: SBG for some time, and Mordhiem occassionally. Just picked up the WE army book, and have read through it (Already skimmed the WH rulebook as well.), and composed a rough army I can start collecting. Just want a bit of input before I actually drop cash on 1000 pt army.
Wood Elf Noble - General
*Extra Hand Weapon.
* Hail of Doom Arrow.
WarDancers 1 Unit of 7
Glade Guard 1 unit of 10
* Lord's Bowmen
* Standard ( Seanrath - The Banner of the Zenith )
Glade Guard Scouts 1 unit of 6
Dryads 2 units of 12
Total Points - 1,000
General tactic idea is to hang back a bit, using the Noble, the GG Scouts, and the GG to weaken the enemy a bit, Then throw the Dryads, and Wardancers into the fray once the enemy starts closing in. Seemingly sound to someone that's only played a small game once, though I'm not entirely sure how well it's going to be executable.
The one thing I'm worried about is Cavalry, and possibly mages. Any mounted units will be able to tear into my flanks and out-manuver me with relative ease correct? If so, should I add a until of Riders instead of the scouts, or perhaps even the Singer? Or even get rid of the Dancers in place of some? Also, will one caster be sufficient to aid in stopping enemy mages in a 1,000 pt game?
By flamin' heck, GEORDIE STEVE is back! I'm coming back up north tomorrow Scribbs. Back on topic though.....
Nice looking list although I tend to like a bit of fast cavalry in lower point games. A unit of 5 Glade riders with a musician will be great at 1000pts. Watch them shine.
