I'm in a small club tournament (1500 pts), playing this WE army:
-Noble (General): 2HW, LA, S, Amber Pendant, Gwytherc's Horn
-Spellsinger: LvL 2, dispel scroll x2
-BSB: elven steed, LA, Pageant of Shrikes, Hunter's Talon.
-Glade guard x 10, musician
-Glade riders x 5, musician
- Eternal guard x 19, musician, standard bearer.
-Dryads x 8
-WR x 5, musician
The best intel I could gather about my next oponent is:
-Exalted Hero (general): Biting blade, chaos steed, MoN
-Sorcerer: Charriot, dispel scroll
-Dragon Ogre Shaggoth
-Dragon Ogre x 5
-Marauders x 20-25
-Marauders Horsemen x 5, MoK
-Knights x 5
Running this under AB I'm 69 pts shy, so there may be surprises...
I would like some advice on strategies & tactics. Thx
OK, once that sorceror is dead you are then completely safe in every aspect of the game except combat; no shooting and no magic from WoC. So make him a priority!
Use your glade riders and WR to marchblock the rest of his force, flank/rear charging when necessary. As WE, you should be able to completely outmaneuver WoC, even if he does have dragon ogres and a shaggoth.
Prepare to recieve a charge with either your EG or treeman, using your dryads as flankers if the fast cavalry isnt avaliable.
Most importantly, as I've already kinda said; prioritise your targets! Unfortunately you ony have one unit of GG and no hail of doom arrow (why, oh god, why?), so get rid of of the sorceror (maybe charge with WR), shoot down those marauder cavalry, and never shoot at that big block of marauders unless there is nothing else to!
Also, for an utterly epic fight - treeman vs shaggoth, see what happens.
Its a pity you can't change your list (im presuming not...), otherwise Id sort out the magic item choices you've made, but hats just my opinion
Best of luck!
Herald of the Colonel; Festooned with pistols, riddled with vermin, and finger lickin' good...
Sounds good. Prioritise and kill mage.
I know I f*ck up with the magic items, specialy w/ the general but as you have presume I cannot change the list now. I' m not to sure about treeman vs shaggot (kind of 50/50 ), but I would love to fight it w/ some support (flank if possible)
Well, its finally fought. It wasnt so bab. I've lost by only 131 pts. So it was a draw. I managed to kill there ogre dragons and the shaggot (the treemam made it run). But in round 6 I tried to get his general (he was on his own on a demon steed) w/ EG and WR. He kill the 4 remanig WR, lost CR by 2 and pased the break test w/ a 4. Any way I was out of the tournament. In quarter finals it could be no draw.
Thx for the advice.
