Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was trying to come up with some "creative" army themes, and the idea of an All Alter lineup occured to me.
for a 2k point game, would it be leagal to bring 4 x alter kin? If so, how much fun would it be? They would act like a pack of wolves, hunting down whatever they wanted.
It isn't going to be a balanced army, but it would be fun to play.
You need a general and an alter can't be one, so you couldn't do the list. 3 alters would be the max. This would limit your magic defense a lot but it could be interesting. I have actually played a 3 alter list vs dwarves and it worked quite well.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
Thats what I figured. This one isn't for winning, it's for having fun. There was a large tournament recently in my area and I had been refining my army for that.
Time to let loose with the Silly.
I have my 3 alters equiped in the following ways.
Highborn: Bow Of Loren, Arcane Bodkins, Stone of Crystal Mere
Noble#1: Helm of the Hunt, Hail of Doom Arrow
Noble#2: Amber Pendant
All 3 have light armour, sheilds, and great weapons. The can combine their charge for 14 S 6 attacks, which would be funny. Not sure about the amber pendant, it would only be worthwile if the unit I'm charging doesn't break after the first round of combat (vampires, deamons, or High Elves striking first)
Looks fun! May be I will still your idea
But if you would like to hava a better chance, may be you sould lead the army w/ a Scroll jockey.
Thats the Plan Dago. I have to bring one non-alter character.. . . .
allthought now that I think about it, I could bring another Noble on a horse (possibly wildrider kin) who could keep pace with them.
better offer at least SOME magic resistance.
You can put an unicorn in a treekin unit, WD, WR and the minimum of core units... There you increase your MR w/ Talismanic Tattoos! (mostly)
hmmmm, very interesting. Never really thought of magic defence in that way. I think mainly because the only magic-heavy armies I've played against so far are vampires, and they just cast on themselves.
Good to remember this for the future tho.
Maybe if you had a wildrider kindred you could sculpt him/her as a centaur creature, from deep within Athel Loren. It would fit into your idea of alter kindred models
