Welcome to Librarium Online!
There is a tournament comming up at the end of march for doubles. a 2000 point army, split 50-50. essentially 2 1000 point armies, one needs 2 core the other 1, and 1 lord choice and BSB to share. My first plan was to partner with my friend who "plays" Dark Elves (though he has never played anyone but me), but he hasn't painted any of his models yet and I'm starting to worry.
So, I also play WoC and have enough painted that I can do 1000 points with relative ease.
The battles have scenarios and objectives, so the victory does not rely on the ability to wipe out your oponent as much as it is about completing objectives (but wiping your oponent makes this easier =P). versatility is the name of the game, and things are generally shaken up a fair bit.
So I'm wondering what you guys think would be some good combinations/ideas. I figure the WoC brings the survivability in CC and the hard hits that we lack, and the WE half brings the support fire and manuverability that the WoC Lack.
Right now, the idea looks like this:
Tzeech lord on steed with runesword and +2 Power Dice, 1 random extra spell
15 warriors with shields and a standard
5 knights with no command
I am not sure a lord is a good idea. Those WoC units are quite small and will draw a fair bit of fire.
I'd consider using dryads and drop the wildriders. The dryads can screen the WoC units from fire.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
yeah, the lord is a bit points-heavy. . . . if I drop him down thought, I'll need to pick between the power dice and the runesword. . . . I rather liked the idea of having a mage that hits like a hero.
Hadn't thought about the dryads. . . . but I'm not sure I want to drop the WR. they are frail yes, but fast and good for some of the objective type stuff. But, dryads are cheaper. . . .
How many wardancers are there? It seems quite good but how will they work together. I prefer the more casty type of mage. Are you going to go get 'em of stand and shoot.
I have just had an interesting idea if the WoC had a warshrine could wood elves like wildriders take an Eye of the gods roll. T4 would really help. just something I would look into not sure of the exact wording but if is says choose a friendly unit then I think it would be possible if a little unfluffy.
Daemonic cheese-how? Well, you would need to start with daemonic milk, i guess...
I believe it would be possible, the wording works and i think they are ruling for things like that to be possible. I think the wardancer unit was 7 strong, but I still need to make some changes.
The idea is that the army has to be able to do both. The scenarios have multiple objectives, one in paticular is a capture-the-flag style and requires both stand and defend while being able to infiltrate and capture. Another scenario is that one team has to claim table quaters while the other does king of the hill. Another is objective holding (2-4 randomly on the board) and infiltrate the enimy's deployment zone.
Combine that with the fact that you could be facing anything. A Dwarf/skaven alliance, dark elves with a slann, Deamons with orcs. . . . . the possible combinations are endless.
I will make up a new draft tonight and see what I can come up with. I rather liked the lord but perhaps it is not as practical as i had thought.
I also agree about the dryads. My first thought was to drop the wild riders for some of the ladies.
Definitely keep the eagle.
Wardancers are a great idea. That will scare the *%#$ out of someone, to see Warriors coming up the middle and Wardancer skirting around the edge.
You know, you could even drop the alter for the wild riders, except passing up the HoDA arrow seems a bit daft.
new list idea is up in the army lists forum
thank you for the feedback, keep it comming.
