Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was wondering what changes you wood dwellers would like to see with the coming of the new army book (whenever it comes out)
I have read allot of threads from this page it seems unanimous that WayWatchers should be less costly. One thing that strikes me is that if the standard Wood Elf archer is the best archer in Warhammer shouldn’t his ballistic skill line up with that? Perhaps a BS of 5?
I like the whole thing of BS5 core, but you will get a whole load of complaints if that does happen.
I think the whole glade guard bow, should be standard for for charatcers, and glade riders.
Like wardance said, a definate reduction in points cost for waywtachers. Like wise for the treeman. Also treemen should be able to throw a a giant rock, like a stone thrower.
More special characters, i would liek to see the return of Durthu. and the addition of a few from history. Really wishing here, but would like Cu-Sith (wardancer from Guardians of the forest) would be an addition.
If they keep orion, he needs to have better protection. Ariel would be a nice addition. Also the twin sisters need to be a bit better.
Just pushing this, but I feel like Wild Riders whould have bows, and wardancers should have throwing weapons.
Finally just to annoy high elves, wardancers should have always strike first
Llove to have some feedback on these suggestions.
Sunday 20th July Wood Elves vs. Brettonians
Mission: Flank Attack (Brettonians attacking)
Score: Wood Elves - 4181
Brettonians - 0
Probably a bit too cheesy for Glade Riders, but characters could use it.I think the whole glade guard bow, should be standard for for charatcers, and glade riders.First part, I agree with, second one, I'd love to see just for the mental image of a treeman throwing a huge rock around.Like wardance said, a definate reduction in points cost for waywtachers. Like wise for the treeman. Also treemen should be able to throw a a giant rock, like a stone thrower. This will happen. Trust me. Unless GW majorly throws poop at their own trend. Nothing to worry about here.More special characters, i would liek to see the return of Durthu. and the addition of a few from history. Really wishing here, but would like Cu-Sith (wardancer from Guardians of the forest) would be an addition. Not sure about Ariel. As is well known, if she shows up, things are pretty dire. Orion is one of my bucket list models, and the twins just seem strange. If they keep orion, he needs to have better protection. Ariel would be a nice addition. Also the twin sisters need to be a bit better. That would make for some interesting adjustments.Just pushing this, but I feel like Wild Riders whould have bows, and wardancers should have throwing weapons. That would be cool to see. Finally just to annoy high elves, wardancers should have always strike first
Myself, I'd like to see the list remain pretty similar, just with a few more competitive units added (like that Lord's Bowmen unit which is an upgrade of GG and BS5. Awesome stuff- maybe for the LO Campaign, if it ever takes off), and the ability to comfortably draw blades with the nastiest armies out there. It's not looking too badski as is.
The Lord's Bowmen unit sounds like a great idea.
(Thought-process of a Treeman on his way to turn the enemy into fertilizer) Look; a big rock, I think ill throw it at something.
If you can’t equip a Treeman with a big rock to carry into battle that fine butt at least right up some rules for sensory that could be picket up the chucked at the enemy. This could add a new level of realism to the Treeman or Treekin for that matter.
As far as characters go, I would love to see something comparable to a dark elf assassin.
I think a BS of 5 sounds good it drives me nuts when Empire can out range me.

Who ever said the standard wood elf archer is the best archer in warhammer? While almost every unit in the WE army has access to some sort of shooting, I would argue that there are several other armies that outshoot wood elves easily including High and Dark Elves. I think the str4 and move without penalty are plenty of bonus enough as it is.
@Nerdkerd Unless you're playing on your board longways, the empire should have a similar or at best equal chance at shooting at you. Warmachines are the only shooting with greater range than longbows. The fact that you can move and shoot w/out penalty makes this point moot.

For me these are the changes I'd like to see
1) Forest spirit ward save is NOT negated by magical attacks.
2) A better dragon breath attack
3) Cheaper scouts which keep the glade guard bow rule
4) Cheaper waywatchers
5) Being able to take Helm of the Hunt and shields on Wild Rider Hero's
6) A bow like the HE one which acts as a bolt thrower
Bout all I can think of atm
I like the army itself as-is, but The magic items really need to be changed, there are alot of useless items and very few answers to hard-to-kill characters that other armies can bring. I also think that our spell list needs to be adressed, possibly make the magic all together a bit more agressive, and give the level 1-2 casters the options for a different lore aswell.
The biggest thing I think is to make Skirmishers negate ranks. the fact they get no rank bonuses counteracts their manuvering, and it would really help in terms of balancing out our CC abilities. This wouldn't just effect our amy, but the ruleset across the board for all armies.
It won't happen, but I'd love to see the Acorn of the Ages back, I loved that item. Granted, it was extremely overpowered (and would be even more so with the new Treesinging spell), but it was always great fun to play.
Every time I used it I mimed throwing a grenade, as that's how I envisioned it going off, my character throwing a Tree-Grenade
