I want to start collecting a different army, but could anybody tell me why i should start collecting WE above WoC and all the others?
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
For me it was the fact that not to many people around me play them (only one other) and they give me the challenge I need to stay interested in the game.
WE got cool models
It's a good question.
I'm a WE player who's switching to WoC. I love WE and won't stop playing them, but I'm ready for something new.
For me, something new means an army with little shooting, hitting power, offensive magic, speed, and uber coolness.
There are lots of reasons to play WEs.
1. Some of the best models in the WHFB range, even coming up to 3 years since their release.
2. Excellent shooting. There are no better bowmen in the game than WEs.
3. Hard hitting skirmishers.
4. Forest Spirits. Incl. Treeman.
As for #5, WEs are unique in that you can run an army more agile than any other in the game. Wooded terrain and difficult terrain are no hindrance to your skirmishers, and your fast cav and flyers can cause lots of problems for the enemy. It's very different than WoC and lets you enjoy different aspects of the game. I say go for it. Make the switch/addition.
Seriously, it is an army that would play totally differently than WoC. It is still an elite troop army, but you get to use the shooting and movement phase as a major part of your strategy, instead of just running ahead hoping to get into combat with uber troops. Davids points are all valid as well.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
