I have a question about an Annoyance of Netlings. Do they work on a dragon too if he is with a highborn in a challenge or it is working only if an enemy want to strike the highborn?
Thanks for reply
Only attacks against the highborn.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
Well I cant say I dont know that but Im glad you ensure me thanks.
And I still think it can be really usefull.
I personally do not like the idea of the netlings on this guy as it relies on a challange and it is simple to refuse a challange. once that happens, most troops will not have trouble wounding the highborn, unless you have invested more points into more defence, at which point he's not as scarey because you have spent all your points on defence insted of hurt-making.
sorry, point i'm trying to make is that there are better magic items to give this guy. Netlings are one of the better protections, but i'd think twice about if for this guy.
I'm going to have to disagree with you a bit on this one talismanictattoo. At least in terms of close combat weapons, wood elves really don't have much in the way of offensive choices. The spirit sword is only good in very specific situations, Daith's Reaper is overpriced for what it does, the Blades of Loec are only usable by wardancer characters, the Callach's Claw is pretty lackluster, and Rageth's Wildfire Blades while cheap don't add much in the way of offensive punch. The Spear of Twilight is allright, but honestly it's not that much better than a regular spear, and for a highborn on foot, none of these weapons are really better than a regular great weapon.
So basically, for a close combat highborn you aren't going to get much offensively speaking so you might as well spend your allotment on defensive items, of which the annoyance of netlings is pretty good.
While I'm not entirely convinced that annoyance is a good choice for a dragon rider, I'd like to point out that if the enemy character refuses the challenge, then the dragon is likely to munch any regular troopers in base to base contact, and the 4+ S5 attacks from the highborn will just add on.
