I want to ask if it is possible to see older Wood Elf Army Book?
And another question
Is TMA useable agains VC supported by Standart Alter, Branchwrait and one scroll caddy? Or is better to take 2 scroll caddy?
Wood elves were on a 'Get you by' list for five or six years before we got the one we have now. It would be hard to track anything official down.
Optimal character builds vary per opponent and what he is bringing. Personally, if I take a TMA, I don't leave home without a BSB to boot.
The Altar Noble can be a great character sniper given the proper circumstances which is what you want if you're not going to try to defend against magic too much, you'll want to neutralize it.
I dont know agains what setup Ill go. I just want ask if it is worth, if it can kill some thing and I ll take two spell caddy or Branch wrait with CoR and PoS to snipe Necromancers. Alter have HoDA and can support TMA ( I think he is possible to pass some fear test on LD9)
So 5DD 2SC or 4DD with 4SC (I just want to dispell things what can hurt me like Gaze of Nagash or Curse of Years and summoning spell only in time of need or when I dont have others things to dispell)
So this book of new Wood Elf army is a 6th edition or 7th?
6th. I have seen the old book on e-bay, if you are interested (yellow background and a mage on the cover).
I have misplaced mine (or lost it, but I cannot face the fact that I lost my first army book)
You can get the old book from ebay - and I'm pretty certain, though haven't looked, you can find a file on the net - whether it is a legal file or not I can't say.
As for the VC thing - I guess it is situational and a matter of trial and error - as with all plans - and it also relies on the tactic of your opponent. If he has gone magic heavy and intends on casting spells at you, and not just raising, then perhaps it is better to go with the two caddy option - but if he's split his vamps between magic and combat then the TMA route might be viable.
